i had my 2nd colposcopy this week and even though i did not get my results yet and will not be at ease 100% until i receive them, my doctor says she can tell there is still nothing serious or cancerous (thank god, PRAY FOR ME!) i had asked her if my boyfriend should get checked out. she had recommended he get a cleaning at a dermatologist especially if he is uncircumcised. have any of you ladies heard of this? and if any of you had a similar situation did your doctor recommend your partner have additional testing?

thanks in advance guys! i want to make sure both my boyfriend and i will be in good health and take care of ourselves before anything gets serious. plus it never hurts to take extra precaution.

Why did you need the colposcopy (or however you spell that)? Either way, if the doc said he should get checked, do it! I've never heard of anything like that but it can't hurt to take every precaution.

well i've had adnormal cell growth since about may-june. my doctor told me it is not cancerous or a sign of any stages of HPV and usually within time it goes away (usually 1-3 years) but until then every 6 months i need to have one done just as a precaution. of course even though i am fine i'm sure i will continue to worry myself every time i need to do the test lol, but i've been trying to be positive about it since it could be much worse and is thankfully nothing serious. tomorrow i am seeing my gyno and she is going to give me a refferal for my boyfriend to see a dermatologist.

That sounds like a good plan.

I'm sure it is nothing serious- you'll be fine!

Let us know how it goes.

Did they test you for HPV? HPV is the leading cause of cervical abnormalities.

when there is an abnormality in your PAP they usually want you to do a colposcopy to see if there is any hpv, cancerous cells. really nerve racking!!
