Okay, so I have always been prone to UTI's but have had so many in the past year, 15 of which I have gone to the doctor for, many others undiagnosed. I have also had a kidney infection. My doctor keeps putting me on antibiotics but it's the SAME OLD STORY each time.

My symptoms: burning when urinating at the last few seconds. Cramping in my abdomen. Urination often, have to go much more often when I have been sitting, like in the car for long trips. Discomofort most of the time, I have just learned to live with it. Pain during sex sometimes.

This is how much it is affecting my life, I couldn't sit through a movie last week at the theatre with my son, I had to make him leave twice to go to the bathroom with me. I am 32, in good shape, avid hiker, who doesn't understand what is happening.

I have asked to see a specialist, but when I went in this week complaing the nurse said my UTI was negative and told me it was a yeast infection and to treat that. They just called today (on Thanksgiving!) and told me that the test is actually positive AGAIN after sitting in the dish a few days it grew ecoli. When the nurse used the clavicle (spelling?) to swab and check for a yeast infection it was SO PAINFUL! I have had kids, I am used to that stuff, when they have used the claivicle in the past to check it isn't the most comfortable thing in the world as most women know, but this time it was incredibly painful. The nurse said I can't seem to get your cervix to open as I was sitting there gasping for breath, and then acted like I am making this up.... I hope she knows that test came out positive!

So can anyone help??? I have seen a few other postings where women have brought this up including a woman who said she has interstiatal cystitis (which I have looked up and wondered if that is my problem). I am tired of trying to self diagnos since I am getting no answers from my doctor. I am just tired in general. It is an extremely uncomfortable way to live and I try not to complain, but I just want answers!

I know how you feel. The ecoli infection is unbearable. Ive had 15 uti's since march and I am now being referred to a urologist. I suggest you visit your gp and ask for a referral. I havent heard anything as yet but hope I will soon. People just dont understand how bad they are. im off work today because one came on me yesterday. Ive had so many that I know that the unbearable pain passes after 8 hours and then I get the washed out and sick feeling with regular toilet visits. How about you? I can only find some relief in the bath. I find it difficult to stay still, just dont know what to do with myself. Its a releif to find someone going through the same
