well it means they are going to have to monitor your conditions. do they have you on any specific dieting or anything?

yeah im not sure
you need to ask your doctor
they should ahve told you WHY
they usually dont just say "oh were going to induce you at 38 weeks"
they have a reason why and you should ask them first thing Smile

My friend has diabetes when she was pregnant and she ended up having a 12 pound baby. Thankfully it was by c-section. But I think that they are just taking precautions because of the risk of having overly large babies.

usually when a woman has diabetes, they have large babies. Hence, they like to induce them if possible (meaning lungs are developed). That may be why, and the fact they keep saying he's a 'big baby'.

DON'T WORRY! and GOOD LUCK!

they do induce for larger babies do to the fact that over 9 lb babies can have complications when in labor.

I was 12 and a half lbs and my mom had me vaginally.
By the way, the MOTHER has diabetes, not the baby.
Women with diabetes have larger babies, to reduce risk in labor (they want to prevent a section) they will induce.
I had an induction date with Bree but she came early.
