For the past couple weeks I have been getting a sharp pain behind my left eye. I normally get a headach with it, but only on my left side. Interestingly, the pains start in the afternoon and are normally never there in the morning when I wake up.

I am also getting over a rough cold in which I was put on antibiotics... so, Im not sure if this has to do with my sinuses, eyes, or brain..... (i hope its not a tumor!)

Anybody have any suggestions??

Do you get headaches every day?
For how long the headache attack lasts?
Do you have moderate to severe, throbbing head pain?
Does the sharp pain continue to be a headache that radiates from near your eye?
Is this a debilitating pain that hinders daily activities and pain that worsens with physical activity?

Re:
I find that the headache once it starts will linger on through the day. Like I mentioned it usually starts in the afternoon, after I have been up for a few hours. It's not a severe pain... rather dull and bearable and is only behind the left eye and left side of head. When I sleep it goes away... and by morning there is nothing.
The pain isnt affecting my lifestyle (yet)... I am a teacher and seem to forget about it while busy working.
Thanks for the response.. do you have any ideas of what this may be?

Do you find that the headache gets worse as the day goes on and increases in intensity if you bend forward?
Is the affected area painful on touch?
Did you start to experience this headache few days after the cold?

All Better
Yes, the headache was after a really bad cold. Good news though, after two weeks, it is gone! It has been a few days now since I have had no pain at all Smile

I guess you have experienced a sinus headache that often starts when you have a bad cold or just after, causing a dull or severe pressure-like pain in one specific area of the face or head (for example, behind the eyes).
You can try the following measures to prevent and reduce congestion in your sinuses: use a humidifier, saline nasal spray and inhaling steam 2 to 4 times per day (for example, sitting in the bathroom with the shower running).

Best wishes!
