I'm not sure how helpful I can be. I was
recently diagnosed with hashimotos. My
thyroid is still functioning but it is
struggling. I was told that whether I
start taking thyroid replacement hormones
or not, my thyroid will eventually be
damaged enough that I will become
hypothyroid. I started thyroid
replacement now because I am ttc and it
might help to have a lower TSH. While
there isn't evidence that it will
definitely slow down the progression, it
can't hurt.
I read that some supplements can help. B6
will help your energy level. Selenium and
magnesium supposedly promote healthy
thyroid function, though not all
endocrinologists agree. My RE says that
these supplements won't hurt.
I'm not sure yet if any of this helps.
Aside from the blood test, my only
symptoms can be explained by other things.
Also, I've only been taking these for a
few weeks.
Before taking supplements, check the
dosage in your multivitamin.
