Q: Headache Question?

So, I've been having some problems with high blood pressure, and my doctor keeps telling me to watch for the signs of pre-eclampsia (sp?). The sharp pain across the top of the stomach, and puffy face or feet, the spots in my eyes, and a headache that doesn't go away with meds.

My stomach doesn't hurt, but my feet are kinda puffy and I've had a few flashes in front of my eyes, and I have a headache. I took some Tylenol a few minutes ago... so how long should I wait before I decide it "hasn't gone away"? A half hour? An hour?

It takes 1/2 hour before the medication will hit your system. If you aren't feeling better soon, give your doctor a call. You can always call at ANY time if you are ever concerned about your health or the health of your baby.

Alrighties, thanks.

I'll give it another 20 minutes and call then if I'm not feeling better.

Also, you should lay down and shut your eyes. Staring at a computer screen won't help Wink

How far along are you?

How bad would you rate the headache? Is it a pounding headache in your temples?

I'm at 35 weeks and... what's today, Wed? 3 days, then.

And it's not really bad... it's right behind my eyeballs. Not pounding, but it's a pressure. It kinda feels like someone has their thumbs in my skull and our pushing on my eyeballs from behind.

It doesn't sound like much to worry about. Sounds like a tension headache. But definitely keep an eye on it.

I agree. I used to get headaches from my bloodpressure. They were really bad, it was normally pressure. And concentrated around my ears and the side of my head.

Are you stuffy at all?

I took a little break and laid down for a bit, and the headache is pretty much gone. I still feel like someone's pushing on my eyeballs, but it's not as hard. I figured out what it was... we just got a bunch of storm clouds overhead. I always get horrible headaches when it's cloudy. So, nothing to worry about.

Thanks again everyone :]
