I am 7 weeks pregnant today. Had an ultrasound 1 week ago to date my pregancy - saw 1 gestational sac but no baby. Went back yesterday and Yes there is a baby. However, there is now another gestational sac which appears to be empty. Has this happened to anyone or can anyone tell me why this might be. They said that the 2nd sac was smaller but that's all I know. Help me!!! Confused

most likely a demised dichorionic twin if it truely was a sac, unless they find a fetal pole later on.

It's possible that it is a failed pregnancy in the other sac that you can't see the baby. Or they might just be missing the baby and later on one will turn up. I hope that it does. Let us know!

I am 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant and had an U/S today and they said I have a healthy heartbeat and another sac that is empty which the person said is a chorionic hemorrhage and usually it goes away on it's own. Hope this helps. I have another U/S in 2 weeks...Good Luck!

another sac found..
Hello girls,
i am about 9 weeks (LMP) preg and i went for my scan last week and he saw the gestational sac but it was measuring quite small ( around 6 weeks) he also could not see the baby but there was something in the sac but it was too small to make out what it was. I was worried and he was not very positive either. he asked me to do D AND c which i refused as i wanted to hold it out a bit longer. also in the scan he noticed another sac he did not say much about it thought as it was very small ( about 4 weeks) i am at my wits end, i started spotting yesterday very very slight brown blood. could this be start of a miscarriage?
please help! any suggestions would be most welcome
angx

Dont get an DNC until you are comfortable with agreeing with it.. Let it go and keep requesting an ultrasound to make sure that there is no viable fetuses.. Good luck!

a d&c is when they dilate your uterus to take the baby that has not made it. This is not abortion because the baby has already passed away. i just had my second miscarriage 2 months ago, also my 2nd D&C, because i was 12 weeks along, but the baby, was only measuring 6-7 weeks. Sorry hon, you would get the baby taken out, i know it sound horrible, but, its in heaven now and you shouldnt leave it in your body, its not good for you. you are able to hear a babys heartbeat at 5 weeks internally. just have one more ultrasound before the d&C

Two gestational sacs
I am 43 got pregnant naturally after trying for 18 months. When I missed my period I went to the doc, had one u/s and they foung two sacs one with 4 weeks heart beating and the another was empty, no heart beat though. I got a second u/s today 7 weeks according to my period. Still have two sacs, one with 7w 2 days with heart beating, the another one 6w 1day with heat beating. Is it normal. Thank you!
