Q: Ball of Skin under arm - what is it?

Hi i noticed a month ago or so that i had grown a small "bag" of string attached under my arm the ball was about 1/16 of an inch in diameter and is attached under my arm pit, about a week ago it had started to hurt, i assumed this was just caused to rubbing it on my t-shirt or something so ignored it, then last night it went from being its usual redish colour to being more purple/blue and thing morning it is actually black and looks dead, i was just wondering if anyone knows hwat it could be? Thanks in advance.

It sounds like a severely ingrown hair to me. Is it hanging off your skin, or is it sort of embedded in your skin?

Google "skin tag".....make sure to do a google image search as well to see if any of the pics match up with what you have. My ex had a bunch of skin tags and it sounds like what you're describing. They're harmless. With any lump or bump on our bodies however, do the smart thing and have your doctor take a look at it.
