I don't like to use the word 'HATE', but i will in this post.

I HATE Brian's school!!!

announced, by a very credible daycare provider, the school is slowly changing it's policy. They want to ban kids from bringing in anything that contain GELATIN.

That's ridicules!!!

So, because the Muslim students are religiously against it, they get to dictate whether or not my son can enjoy a cup of jello or pudding at lunch?

I DON'T THINK SO!!!!

Can you believe that?

Did i mention that i HATE his school????

What!? That's insane, he's your son and it's your choice what you want to feed him. Why the hell are Muslim students against jello?

OMG, if that isn't the stupidest thing I have ever heard! How can you be against eating jello? And to actually ban it from school is just ridiculuous! I'm sorry his school is being so stupid.

Gelatin can contain traces of pork... Muslims don't eat pork. Weird, i know!

They just need to teach their kids not too mooch off of their classmates' lunches Rolling Eyes

That's ridiculous. I could understand making sure to offer non-pork product foods in the school lunches, to be fair, or banning products that can cause a deadly allergy (like peanuts) but it's completely unfair to hold children to the beliefs of a religion that they don't follow.

It may come from a credible source, but honestly I wouldn't believe it until it happens. I honestly don't think they can really do that unless someone is allergic. If they do that, where does it stop. Are they willing to start making the food kosher for people who are Jewish. What about other religions.

If it does truly happen, it will probably be in the news.

They have sent out the notices to the Kindergartens already.

I'm just waiting for mine.

That is crazy! Are you allowed to send you kids with a bologna or ham sandwich, or a hot dog? What the heck? I would be very upset if I were you.
It's getting pretty bad when you can't send your kids with jello or pudding.

Another thing that really angers me off is, you hardly find 'Merry Christmas' signs. Like what?

I told Brian that if they don't let you eat it, demand to call home.

There is nothing highly dangerous about gelatin. Its actually good for you. Its nothing like peanut butter..that i understand cannot be eaten at school but all this for religion? c'mon this is not a muslim country...this is a free country! live by our beliefs or don't live here at all....i'll probably get sh*t on for my comments but i am totallt fed up with them whining about every god damn thing!yeah make sure you pack one everyday in his lunch! oh another thing....you dont eat pork...good for you..nobody is shoving it down your throat! althought i feel like it

I don't get it. So what about food that has bacon in it?? What about hotdogs and pepperoni?? They can only dictate so much what a person brings to eat. If it's because gelatin contains traces of pork, what about the other things? This just seems so unreal to me. Perhaps the school or school district got freaked out and didn't know what to do when someone threatened a law suit. If that's the case, they should have contacted the school attorney or perhaps the school attorney stinks.

Again, where will the line be drawn. This will be a never winning battle.

Why don't they just stop serving meat altogether so they don't affend vegans? Oh, and don't serve milk or eggs or cheese either. Or yogurt for that matter. Hmm, and I bet there are a few diabetic kids in that school... better cut out all the sugar too! No cake, cobbler, pies or cookies.

Yeah, let's just serve all the kids dry salad and water. You know, so we don't offend anyone.

Once the notice is given to Brian, i'm going to send him to school with all pork products the next day!

BTW, his school is 90% muslims. It'll be a never ending fight for sure!
