Self Esteem is Relative Posted: 11-18-07 23:18pm
I just had an epiphany.
Maybe we are trying to cure something that
we really don't want to cure.
It's been my experince that people who
suffer from depression tend to be a little
smarter than the average person.
Are there any Classic Twilight Zone fans
out there? It was a time before high
graffics, when story had to have
substance.
There was a lady who went to have plastic
surgery on her face. When she took off
the bandages, she was beautiful. All the
nurces and doctors had horrorible faces.
They screemed an ran because they thought
she was hideous. She was beautiful, but
different from them.
I think we are like that. We are the
brightness of the world. We are so bright
that the world appears dark.
Someone once said Ignorance is bliss.
That isn't bliss, that is evil, and
dangerous. I can tell you what bliss is,
though. Stupid is very blissfull. When I
fall in love, my hormones rush, creating
dopamine. Then, I am blissful and
stupid. When I am with my grandchildren,
my intelect sinks to their level, and I am
in bliss. To get "normal" we have to find
the medication that dumbs us down, so, we
can be blissful. We see the hopelessness
of the world as it truly is. That is why
we feel the way we do.
But, I have more news. The world is utter
CHAOS. You are too smart for your own
good. You think you know your future, and
it is set in stone. I wish it were that
simple. You really don't know where your
going to be one day from now, let alone a
month or a year. You have no clue who you
are going to be, or who you will be with
either. You are really smart. But not
that smart. I hope someone can wrap their
brains around this.

Thanks for you to say so. But, I feel that
denile is a big part of our problems.
We're are bunch of know it alls, and we
know nothing. We want to be miserable so
we don't face facts. The chaos in the
world destroyed all our smart little
plans. The same chaos that destroyes,
also creates order (Lao Tsu 300 BC).
Somewhere, maybee from people like you,
and others we can find that patience for
everything to come to terms. We need the
ability to open our eyes when it gets
here.

I am speehless Mike. You make a good
point. And not only that, I remember that
Twilight Zone episode like yesterday. They
all had faces like pigs. I think I have
seen every episode myslef more then once.
You really do make a very good observation
here that really does have some wieght to
it. Maybe because we are so busy being
depressed we find things to do and absorb
them into our minds. We dedicate our
depressed times to somewhat of a learning
time.
Excellent post Mike!

Stupid people are ignorant of the dangers
that surround them. It's easy for them to
have faith in tomorrow.
Smart people try to have a plan. Plans
come and go like the summer rain. We see
all of lifes dangers. We make more plans
to protect ourselfs. The dangers we plan
against disappear. New dangers rise their
ugly heads that we didn't for see. When
we realize we are all bare a''ed naked and
hanging in the wind, Profound
hopelessness sets in. My problem, and our
problem is we have no faith. We only have
a little faith in this forum. But, but
not enough to really listen to someone
elses advice. I am not advocating
religeous faith. I am advocating anykind
of faith, faith in providence, faith in
destiny, faith in yourself. We are great
suckers for cults. They will impose a
faith on you, and you will get better.
But, you will no longer be you. You will
be one of them.
I ask everyone who might look at this.
Where, and how do we get the faith? Do we
have to be stupid to have it? Where is
the phylisophical foundations that we can
adhere to? Somewhere, somehow we need
faith.

If suddenly we were all happy and didn't
have our mental health issues, we'd feel
like everyone else and we wouldn't get the
special attention that we so desperately
need to make ourselves feel better... It's
a never ending cycle until the self-esteem
issue can be fixed...

We need to learn how to rejoice in who,
and what we are. If you can do that, I
would say damn to those who would change
you. I would rather rejoice in who I am,
than be like the monsters that is causing
all the suffering in the world.

bright...then someone please tell me how
to become stupid!
