hey everyone,

getting straight to the point. about 2 - 3 years ago I had protected sex ( as far as I remember ) I think the condom did break in one instance. this was while i was travelling around the world with friends.

I got back home to australia only to start getting sick a ew months later. It irst started with constant fever, sore throat, dry cough, night sweats, diarrhea, tiredness. I consulted my doctor a few weeks later who sent me for a HIV test & it was negative. In jan 2006 i had one night stand & once again I used a condom.

I got married this & my wife is pregnant. She had a blood test for HIv which was negative. Even though i should be happy I am still concerned because I am still getting the constant fever, night sweats etc... nothing has changed for me.. I haven't got any other symptoms but still I am freaking out because I am very concerned for my wife & baby.

Should I be worrying? Should I get tested again? Am I showing signs of HIV? I am unable to discuss this with my wife as she doesn't know about my previous partners. What should I do?? please help??

What was the time difference between your suspected exposure and your last HIV test?
Do you have skin rush?
Have you checked for swollen lymph nodes( armpit, groin, neck)?
Have you lost weight rapidly?

I did a blood test approx 2 - 3 months after the exposure.

how exactly does skin rush look? as far as i know i haven't got any problems with my skin.

I my neck & back does hurt at times but that has only happened after i got my new job recently where i'm at my desk for hours without a break. but no swelling on groin or armpit.

As far as weight, I've gained atleast 10 - 15kgs int he last year so no issue with the weight.

The only person who i've had uproctected sex with is my wife & like i mentioned here pregnancy blood test has all come nagative for HIV. wouldn't she have got something from me if i was infected?

also i recently did a voluntary urine test for claymedia which was nagetive aswell..

Did you undergo examinations and tests for other medical conditions?
What was the time distance between your wife's first sexual contact with you and her HIV test?

Well I do have IBS & that's the only thing i've been tested for.

as far as my wife, she was tested 6 months after sexual contact with me.

I think you are free of HIV infection.
Probably, there is another medical problem that causes the symptoms.
For how long you are experiencing IBS symptoms?
The back pain you feel can be an associated problem with the IBS and correlates with the severity of the IBS.
Did you have a chest x-ray examination?
Have you been checked for a chronic respiratory infection?
