Q: Occasional Tension In My Head While I'm Asleep

What could cause tension in my head when I'm asleep?

It feels like the pressure when you go underwater, starts as a mild feeling then grows stronger fast and it peeks in a wild pain outburst in my brain.
It doesn't awakes me though and it lasts for a few seconds maybe.
I never experience it when I'm awake.
First I thought that I'm just dreaming it but it feels real and keeps happening.

For how long this pressure occur?
Does it happen every night?
Does it happen at the beginning of your sleep?
Are you experiencing night sweats?
Have you been told by your bed partner that while sleeping you are gasping for breath?

Do you have some other sleep problems?
Are you getting enough sleep? Do you feel alert and refreshed the following day?
Are you stressing too much?
Do you have other types of headaches during the day?
How is your general health?

Excessive sleep or sleep deprivation are triggering headaches during sleep.
Certain headache disorders are associated with different patterns of sleep disturbance.

That must be it, my sleeping habits are very random, and I consume a lot of coffe.
Thanks!

You are welcome!
Try to have good sleeping hygiene and see if that works with tension headaches.
Best wishes!
