Q: Dry Chapped Darkening Lips

Hi! Just about a week ago, I noticed that my lips have become extremely dry. It felt like something was on them like a fungus or something. It started in one spot and kinda spread all over my lips. I could see lil patches on my lips and then my lips started to darken and was still severly dry. Lip Balms would not work at all so I would like to know what it could be and how to treat it?? Please help! Sad
