I'm going to start exercising & watching what I eat again. I've been lazy about it for a few months now & I'm tired of feeling sorry for myself when my clothes don't fit right & making excuses. I'm going to be working out on my exercise ball & doing aerobics & I'm going to get a tae bo work out video this weekend & follow along with that. I want to look good for next summer as we're planning on going on vacation to the beach! I'm right around 160lbs now, wearing size 11-15 jeans, mostly because my hips are so wide.. I'd love to be back at 135lbs & wearing size 9 jeans which is what I was at when I first found out I was pregnant, but my goal is to get to 140lbs. So I have about 20 lbs to lose & about 6 months to do it. Which is MORE than a reasonable enough time I think. I want to be a good role model to Kaylee, I don't want her growing up knowing I hate my body & her doing the same, so I figure now while she is still young, is the time to change myself. I've already been drinking more water & less soda. I get headaches if I don't drink mountain dew so I'm going to allow myself 2 - 12 oz cans a day for the next 2 weeks (I usually drink anywhere from 2-6).. In 2 weeks I'll decrease it down to one can then eventually none. I'll be taking pictures along the way but I HIGHLY doubt that's what anyone wants to see lol, but when I get to my goal maybe I'll post pics of before & after! Wish me luck! Does anyone have any good websites for healthy meals? Or any tips even?

I think I read somewhere that you should divide your weight in half, in whatever you get is how many ounces of water you're suppose to drink. Does that sound right?

I'm trying to do the same thing. For me I've notice I eat a lot of things with TONS of sugar (candy, cake, and so on.) In the past I've noticed a change simply by slowing my consumsion of processed sugars in favor of more natural variations (fruit, no sugar added yougers and the like.) Just a thought

most of my recipes in the recipe sticky are from my weight watchers days. my meal tip is to bulk things up with vegetables. like that tuna noodle stuff you make, load it up with peas or broccoli, that way you're eating less of the noodles and more of the vegetables per serving.

good luck! you can do it!

12 cups is not that exaggerated. The proper daily intake is about 8 glasses a day.

Good luck michelle! I want to lose about 35 pounds for next summer. I don't want to be a fat brides maid! (I know the wedding isn't about me, but I just know right now I'd feel so uncomfortable in a dress that it would just be comletely unpleasant for me to even be part of my sister's wedding.)

go to www.vegweb.com. Lots of healthy, vegtable based, recipes there! It's a great site because people submit pictures of what they cook, and rate the recipes.

ive always been told no more than 6.. so that would be more than twice the amount.

U also gotta remember that other stuff has water in it, like soda, and juice.

Thanks everyone for the support! If I ever come on here ranting on about how I want to pig out on NOT good food lol, someone cyber slap me because I really want to do this!

B, I'm going to go back through the recipe thread again & write down (My printer is out of ink or I'd print them) most of the recipes you have in there! The only hard thing with veggies is Shane refuses to eat them so I'm going to have to make my own seperate dinners.

Tanya I know what you mean! I'm the maid of honor for my best friend & she's planning on her wedding possibly next summer as well! It all gives me that extra boost to go through with eating right! Thanks for that website, I'm checking it out now & saving it to my favorites!

I drank allot whenever I was pregnant and breastfeeding. I think I tried to drink 10 glasses a day.

My doctor told me that if I drink 1 can of pop I need to drink 2 glasses of water to make up for it. Something about the sodium.

I'm almost certain that it is indeed 8 glasses *min* ...sodas and juices are not necessary and they should be avoided while dieting.

And those things should not be daily things anyways. Soda and juice should be occasional things, and water your main source of fluid in take.
