Hi,

I am new at taking birthcontrol pills, I am on them because I am taking other medicine that no matter what I cant get pregnant. So I am on Yaz. I have been on them for two months, I think I screwed up for the first month. I was on my last two or three day of my cycle and I started the active pills . So I am on my second pack and I started the pack on my first day of my period which was a friday. I have two left before the sugar pills.
Question 1 The begining of the pack has 4 active pills because I took the one for friday because that was the day I started period. do I take those two before I take the sugar pills?
Question 2 Do I take the sugar pills until I start my period then as soon as I start period start my new pack?

You are taking them incorrectly, it sounds like to me.

Question 2 Do I take the sugar pills until I start my period then as soon as I start period start my new pack?

NO. You keep taking the inactive pills during your period until to get to your next pack.

YOU TAKE one pill each day.

WHEN you get to your INACTIVE PILLS, you take one each day. YOU DO NOT start a new pack when you start your period.

You start a new pack when you finish the old pack. INCLUDING PLACEBO PILLS.

Make sense?

Go ahead and FORGET those pills.

EACH month is SEPARATE, you can start the pills correctly NOW.

WAIT 7 full days to have unprotected sex, since you have screwed them up. This will make you fully protected because it takes 7 full days for the pill to be effective.

When you take the pill CORRECTLY, you do not have extra pills.

You start a pack from the TOP. I recommend you keep taking ACTIVE pills , but wait a week so you KNOW you are protected against pregnancy.

Gosh I am so dingie,I think I see where I screwed up. Ok see if I can explain. I opened my first pack and it was friday when I started my period so I went on the first row of active pills and went down to the 5th pill and took it. Instead of starting the very first pill and that first pill be friday. Does this make anysense? Now that I took the 5th pill I have 4pills left in the first weeks and I have 2 left for this week. Now what? I think I take all the active pills and then take my white sugar pills. Would that work? GOSH I am so lame.GRRR

All the 'active' pills are the SAME strength of hormones.

I see what you are saying...

So you do need to take those 4 pills, BUT do not take 2 in a day.

You need to make them up in a way that has you taking 1 pill everyday for the whole pack.

SO say you have 4 pills left. Well tommorow take 1 of those pills..Then the next day take one of them..etc..

THEN when you are done with making up the 4 pills, keep taking the rest of the active pills..
Make sense?

JUST take one each day.

In general, just always start at the beginning of the pack, take one each day until they're all gone (and in order, too!) and then start a new pack as soon as you used up the last placebo pill. Rinse and repeat. Smile
