My mum and I took Jay to see Santa at the big shopping mall today! It was so cute! Ive never bothered before because I thought he was too young to understand or be very interested, hes 4 now and this is the first year he really knows what its all about, its so exciting for him Smile

We went with one of his best friends from pre-school, Nicole, and her mum. We didnt have to queue up long thankfully. Santa's elf called us into the room, Jay stood infront of him and answered his questions (name? have you been good? what do you want for christmas? etc) then me and nanny moved out the way while the machine in there took a picture.

Im so pleased the picture came out great! Hes smiling in it and so adorable. I bought 2! Im going to frame one to go on the wall somewhere, and the other will go in a photo album. They are A-5 size I think, so not huge but big enough.

Santa gave him a present which we let him unwrap back in the car. Its different coloured paper and some zig-zag cutting scissors, hes sat at his table right now doing his arty stuff. We were only in there for 2 minutes but It was so good, im really glad we went. The kids were so excited.

Anyone else taking their kids this year?

Aw thats a shame Bridget. At this one it was FREE to see Santa and get a present, you just pay afterwards if you want the photo. It was $10.33 for 1 photo or $15.50 for 2.

it's free just to sit with him so i will take him when he's older and knows who santa is. but the pictures were outrageous, i think the cheapest was $22.

I'm not sure if we are or not. It seems to get more spendy every year. I know here it's like 25$ a picture. Or something like that. Where my mom works they old a free santa, cake walk, and games for the kids, and thats where i've taken her for the last 3 years.

Not only no... HELL no. Here's why.

1. Too expensive.
2. Alyvia cries when strangers try to touch/grab/hold her.
3. A guy Aaron went to school with was Santa a couple of years ago. He's a pervy guy. Eww.

That's okay. We'll just write out Christmas lists and make homemade cookies for him when she gets older. And also do the Toys for Tots thing!

My husband's company Christmas party is in a couple of weeks and they are going to have a Santa. Cheyenne will only be 3.5 months old, but I think it will be cute to get her picture taken with him. The Santa is going to be a guy that my husband works with, so that won't make it quite so creepy. Plus, you can bring your own camera and take your own picture; so it won't cost us anything.
