Help!! Infection/vaginal Thrush Again After My Period Posted: 11-15-07 00:49am
hi im 19, and last month, i started having
itch, swelling, and white discharge, i
asked the pharmacist about it, and he said
its vginal thrush. he gave me this cream
called Canesten Clotrimazole Thrush
treatment. its 6 day cream. A disposable
applicator with canesten cream is used
every night and it should be used
continiously for 6days. I used it the
first night, it helped alot coz the next
day i dont feel as itchy. But also, the
next day, I got my period. And i didn't
expect it, coz i was a week late. So i
stopped using the Canesten, and never used
it after my period. Now, im starting to
itch again but not as much as before.
Should i just continue using the 5
disposable applicator left again? or
should i buy a new one? what scares me, is
that my boy friend and i had sex after my
period, and i saw like a spot of blood on
my undies. And we also had oral sex
recently, and i found a spot of blood on
my undies again. What should i do? pls
help me!!

i have the same problem quite often. I
know the treatment i got it in the past. I
think that yrs was not foul, u better
visit yr doctor..i am wondering how the
pharmacist gave u the cream without a
prescription.. anyway..usually it is
candita, but it can also be caused byt
bacteria, that's y u should first have
micrological test of yr vagina fluids so u
will have the right treatment. Secondly my
doctor also gives me pills for the
candita..a in-vaginal cream, an
out-vaginal cream plus pills. it is also
good to douche yr vagina before u will use
the inside cream.
About yr bf don't be afraid, males got
nothing..but maybe u can take it back from
him, so he has to take some pills too..my
doc alsways gives me pills for my bf..also
the blood u saw i think it is from yr
period..don't be scared, it is a routine
infection.
Also about yr period..well u should
continue it (medication).. don't feel
secure just because after 2-3 days u r not
itching.. must finish yr medicines. Once i
had my period like that, i continued my
treatment after it..and it worked..
Go to yr doc or call him and tell him
what happened. Tell him also for yr
boyfriend. In my country docs say that i
can take it back from my bf..in italy they
say no..in uk the same..what does yr doc
say? I would like to inform me!

i heard that candida is the scientific
name of vaginal thrush. I'll go to my
doctor as soon as i can.
Thanks again, you made me feel so much
better coz i was really freaking out that
it could be STD.

u r welcome..i had the same prblm at the
past many times..i have weak defensive
system..but it will be ok with u..after
cure u can put in yr vagina some yogurt
with "live active yogurt culture" this
contains galactobacilus which r the
natural protection of vagina..i do that
and it really helped me..just put yr
finger in yogurt and then in yr vagina..a
small quantity is enough..

my doctor told me to soak in the tub with
apple cider vinegar and water after my
period, as its common to have yeast
infections after your period...

this is also good because it brings down
vagina PH. A combination would be fine
