I like doing mosaics with beans and seeds and stuff. It can get pretty messy, but it's still fun!

Materials

Heavy construction paper, thin wood, or solid material
(for background)
Pencil
Glue
Beans
kidney
white
lentil
etc.
Seeds
pumpkin
sunflower
poppy
etc.

Directions:

1. Pick a design (studying Roman mosaics is pretty cool, too)
2. Trace out your design on your solid material with pen or pencil
3. Give each bean or seed a number
4 Assign colors/numbers to chunks of your design
5. Starting from the inside out, apply glue and then place your materials on the surface of your mosaic, being sure to space them evenly and in alignment.

My favorite thing was always tracing my hand to make a turkey and coloring it with lot of different colored crayons. I did this when I was little...call me nostalgic Wink
