Similar post to the other one. The other one is just so huge and I have my own issues.

For the past month, I am having a difficult time breathing. I normally have anxiety but haven't had any lately. This is really not anxiety-related. I also have extreme dizziness, nausea at times, sometimes headaches (today was a killer). I have a little cough when I can't breathe at all. I don't wheeze nor do I cough up anything. I moved to this state about 5 months ago. I went to the doctors and my heart "sounds" alright (just did a brief listen) and my lungs are clear. He gave me an asthma inhaler and it doesn't seem to work anymore. I have only used it a few times and got it last week. At the doctors office, it worked a little. The next day, it worked slightly. Now it really doesn't seem to work. I had asthma as a child and this just seems so different.
I can't even walk up a flight of stairs without feeling extremely winded. This weekend, I walked up three flights of stairs and it took me about 15 minutes to catch my breath. When I have to walk quickly to get my phone, it takes me about 2 minutes to recover. I just had my second baby (4 months ago).

The doctor initially stated that it's probably just allergies. I find it hard to believe I am allergic to something this much. Does anyone else have allergies with these symptoms. I am wondering if I recently developed an allergy to something.

Have you suffered from severe nasal congestion lately?
Do you have stuffy nose, itchy nose and throat, mucus production?
When do you usually cough?
Is your asthma properly controlled with meds?

Maybe you could work with a specialist on a stress test. This doesn't seem normal.

Breathing Problems
I have been having trouble taking deep breaths for the last week. I am wondering if I might have been allegric to something in a protein shake that I took for a few weeks. I feel like I can't get enough oxygen even when I take deep breaths. Also, my heart is racing sometimes.

Do you notice swelling of the trachea? I'm not sure how a protein shake can affect the respiratory system? Maybe could it be caused by stress? What type of protein shake were you drinking and what amounts?

Hi,

I have been using a whey protein shake. I have not noticed any swelling of the trachea. I had 1 shake each day (2 big scoops) for about a month. I have a history of allergies that were under control for a few years and borderline asthma. The protein shake is the only new thing that I have been having and that's why I am curious. I stopped the shake a week ago. I felt my breathing was improving but yesterday it got worse again.

As for stress, there is a moderate amount of stress but nothing more than usual - I think just pretty much normal level everyday type stress - worrying about kids etc. nothing significantetc.

Yesterday, my ears were completely clogged and ringing, my sinuses are completely blocked (worse than usual). This makes me suspicious that it could be allergies cuasing my breathing problems. I was tested for allegies several years ago, went on allergy shots for three years, things subsided and all of a sudden these sysmptoms have appeared again. The breathing problem though is a new experience.

Thanks for any insight.

Aha --- I see. Yes, August is a month that can kick up those allergies. I suggest that if you don't have any relief that you consult a pharmacy and ask them (kind of old fashioned, I know) what these symptoms might ban and what over-the-counter products might help you.
