Welcome Aboard!
I know neither of you will be sorry. You have just joined the best group of members any site has. I myself have never seen such feeling and compassion as the ones on here. There will be times (not many) that you might get an answer you don't agree with or feel a little shy about. But, we are very open minded here and most of us let it all out. The help is here if you need it. Glad to have you both as part of our family.

Hi Mike
Sorry about your no reply posts. If I am reading you post correctly you are asking if frustration can lead to depression.
Well, it's a good way to start a good bout with anxiety in my opinion. Now, if it can lead to depression? My answer would be yes it could possibily do that. When you are frustrated over something, that means it usually is not going as planned. And of course that could make you depressed.
So, what you will have to do is think about what is is that is frustrating you and fix the cause or get rid of it. Plain and simple. If the frustration is really overwhelming, then I would say get rid of it. Find something new to take it's place.
If it is something you can not change or fix, then you are going to have to learn a method of dealing with it.
Start working on this soon, before it takes you over. There is no majic pill ( although they help take the edge off) that will fix it for you. That is something you have to do to take charge of the problem.
And welcome to our humble abode. Sorry it stated off on a bad note. Sometimes we, as supporters in our forums get so busy things get overlooked. I hope I was of some help to you.

Carrie

O.k. Huh? Rules?
I just read the rules for making a post. I find I can't say what I want to say. But, I can give you some back ground. So, you can figure it out for yourself. 14 months ago I talked to my wife, while she was on her way to church, and told me she wanted a divorce. The following month I had two heart attacks, and two angioplaties. 4 months ago, I had quadruple bypass surgery. I went back to work 2 months after the surgery. I am deep in dept with medical bills. I hear nothing from my children, or grandchildren. I am totally alone. My job is stressful, low paid, and degrading. I work 25days a month. I have just been demoted. The stress has me smoking again. Just one more negative thing, and the rest of the comment is against the rules.

Oh Boy
I will say you have a pile up Mike. Lets take one thing at a time here. There is nothing you can do if your wife really does not want to be with you anymore except do your best to get back with her by correcting whatever it is she left you for if it is correctable.
Why can't you see your kids. Is this a court ruling or her's? If it is her's you can fight for custody or visitation. There are many attorney's out there that will do a pay if you win basis. If you did nothing wrong to your children, why would she not let you see them. I am no lawyer, so I really am not priveed to the legalities of these things.
You are not alone with medical bills. Do you realize that half the worlds population owe's billions of dollars to the health care field. I am on of them. In this case what you have to do is even if you send them $10.00 a month each, yes you credit will go down to the city dumps, but they can not do anything except turn you over to collections for not payment in full.
Also, you are talking to someone that has been through having their children taken away. I did have visitation but was without my kids for 8 years. This was due to something with my X husband. It was no fault of mine. Or maybe it was for letting it happen.
Now about your job. Is there anything else you are able to do or have training in where you could look for something that would pay you a good wage for you hard work?
And yes, I already figured out what you can't say and good thing cause that really is the only thing that upsets me. I worked in that field and counseled people about it. Life is not as bad as it may look. You just have to look beyond you problems sometimes to be able to change what is wrong. So, don't even go there or think about that. Read my profile and you will see a tid bit that says just that. That is not the best way to solve problems by just saying "forget it". Get some county help if you have to. There are resourses out there if you just look. Some are free and others on a sliding scale but, they are out there in every state. So, please get some help. I think your kids would suffer the most from that.

In My Thoughts.
Carrie

Welcome to the forum, Mike and everyone else!

I'd say you're right on the money MsSky!

Mike, what's something you enjoy? Something you really really take pleasure in doing that can both give you a sense of enjoyment and also help distract you for a little while. Whoever said occasional distraction is a bad thing is DEAD wrong. Find something you're good at. I can remember when my life was a giant dumpheap and I found that I loved to write. It could be the most morbid stuff i'd ever come up with, but it took me out of my element for at least a little while. It helped me quite immensely!

I Lost My Post Again
I guess I can't explain in long form or I lose my post. I'll try to be brief. I work in very isolated locations. We are the bottom of the trash can in the oil and gas industry. Condition very inhumane. My X is a control freak. Everyone is scared to offender. She has custody. Everyone has to give her what she wants.
Work hours are long and lonely. Sometimes goining months without seeing civilization. So far, working, and dieing is my future. Great Huh!

Here Ya Go Marvel
I watch the fire fly series so many times I can watch it with my eyes closed. When I go into rem state, I am one of the charactors on board, with new plots and add charactors, a real money saver tactic with DVDs. Story about a futuristic rebel, who lost a war.
The last week, all I can watch is Silent Hill. It's about a lady that becomes the opposite of blessed. Because, she loved. I dnn't think the movie is that great. But it seem to be what I reach for after 12 - 14 hours of work.
I see you do not like the opposite word for blessed. Let's just say she dies in the movie. Maybe that is part of the appeal.
I hate the word blessed. My X was a good christian woman. She claims to love Jesus, who she really dosesn't know. But care nothing for a man who would have done anything for her.

There is also so much I want to say be must follow board guidlines. She will not fair well in the end times. Devorce is not in the book.
Anyway, I think I know what kind of work you do and you may as well go to Alaska and go fishing for alot more money and be home every three months or so.
OK, I think what you really need to do is go see a Physicatrist and let everything out and maybe he will put you on some medication to ease the conditions. I am not one to push pills but in major cases like yours, I think it might be something you would want to address. It may help you get through the horrific time you are going through.
I myself have pretty severe anxiety and depression but, with the help of medication, I actually feel like a different person. The combo that I am on just happens to work very well I guess and I consider myself one very lucky lady.
You might want to think about getting some help so you are able to deal with all of this. You have a heck of alot on you plate right now. Would'nt hurt to help take the edge off. Talk to you doctor about it.

freefall and FoolsParadise: How are you both doing? Have not heard from you in a day or so. Are you two doing alright. Get back here and let's talk. We are still here for you two. Wink

Hanging On
Here is a true story of someone I worked with. He was an electrician at a cement plant. His wife divorced him for another man. She got full custody. He made lots of money. But he didn't have enough to have a place to live. His child support was high. He barely got to eat. He took a shot gun and blew his own head off. Two weeks later his X and BF die in a car accident. His children have no parents.
This true story has helped me over the years. I hope it helps someone else. I have heard that the best way to overcome depression is to help others.

Down to Earth?
Hum! Let's see. In this group, that is a fraze that must be censored. I am so negative, I see other connutations. I thought of writing a best seller, self help book. The Power of Negative Thinking. Don't get me to explain. It could get very dark.
Ya'll think ya'll depressed. Ya know it when you develop a wild, dark, bitter since of humor. Thats how comedians get their material. Living Hard Times. Everyone thinks their funny. All the time, they are serious. That is what make it funnyer.
Does anyone remember the movie Patch Adams?
I think I might watch that one again, myself.

I Am Just a Normal Depressed Person
Except, My Mother was mated to my Dad at a Federal run facility. It was F.D.R's answer to Hitlers' Master Race. We were to be the exact oposite and counter force to protect the future if Hitlers' program was successful.

This is based in reality. Some of it is conjecter on my part by some of the things my parents said. My father was drafted. Turned down when they found out who he was, amd made up excuses not to take him. So he could make me.

Ah Ha! Maybe thats my answer. I should become the Super Hero I was meant to be. Just like in the Three Doors Down music video.
