Q: Pms With Yeast Infection Or Something Else?

Ive been having this problem for over a year now. Each time my period comes and within 2 days after my period starts I have the worst yeast infection. I use to get rid of it by putting yogurt down there, and im now taking acidolpholis. I also have used monostat. They have been successful in getting rid of it for that month, but it keeps coming back every month to. Does anyone know what it might be?

Are you on birth control pills? Do you use tampons? I had a reoccuring yeast infection for over 2 years (thankfully it was only mild during the first year or so).. They took me off of birth control pills and put me on the depo shot which has no estrogen and it cleared it up. Otherwise, I would wonder if maybe it's something you are using for your period that maybe you are having a reaction to??

Pms With Yeast Infection Or Something Else?
I dont use birth controls. I do use organic tampons one in awhile. But I have gone without using tampons to just to see if it is the problem. Well I find out its not the problem either. Id rather it be candida overgrowth then something more serious. It only comes during my period. I find the homeopathic inserts work out well. But it doesnt take care of the root of the problem. Maybe its eating too much fruits/sweets. Lol I appreciate your response and your help. Thanks Smile

Give This a Try
You might want to try diflucan it is not cheap but it really helps and you do need a prescription for it and it is only one pill but I know it has helped a lot of women.

Sincerely,
sandy

Your menstrual cycle is when your body "cleans" itself. A lot of women get yeast infections at this time. Your body is trying to flush out the bad, but sometimes it results in an infection. Maybe, when it is getting time for your period, drink lots of water. Stay away from caffeine. And if the yogurt works, I would insert it right before you would normally start to get symptoms. That way, maybe you could kill the infection before it gets bothersome.

Pms With Yeast Infection Or Something Else
Hello honey,

what you describe is exactly what my sister & I suffered for years without answers. We both discovered we had systemic candidas which also linked to food intolerence. Our yeast infections returned every month as shortly before your period your immune system is less efficient, you probably crave sugar & a higher sugar in-take encourages yeast growth. The frequency of my sister's thrush was greater then mine but my pms symptoms were chronic every month. My sister's marraige was suffering & I could not maintain a relationship due to the severity of pms symptoms I suffered.

We both had to cut out, sugar, yeast, wheat & dairy from our diets. May I suggest you are tested for food intolerence, particularly intolerence to sugars & yeasts.

Since lowering my refined refined carb in-take I no longer suffer from pms. I have also persuaded reluctant friends with various pms symptoms to reduce their refined carb in-take & increase protein in-take from mid cycle. All were surprised that something so simple worked.

Cutting out sugar is not an easy task but I live by the mantra "feed my body & not my tastebuds"!

Hope you find this helpful & are reassured that there is a simple cure for
the constant yeast infection & pms.

Wishing you good health & renewed optimism

Yeast Infections
I used to get yeast infections after my period too, while I was on birth control. They've been much much better since i've been off though, and now, if I ever get them, they're much milder.

If you get a sife effect like that from b/c then you need to switch pills. Yeast infections are not a normal side effect of birth control.

Actually yeast infections can occur from b/c. I had that problem. The estrogen can trigger an imbalance in some people. I unfortunately was one of them. The only thing that got rid of my yeast infection was to go on the depo shot which has no estrogen.
