Self explanitory really. I am fourteen
years old and have just noticed a lump
behind MY LEFT nipple. Directly behind it,
an it hurts like hell when pushed.
My mum thinks it could be a cist, but I
read it could be a lump because of
puberty.
Should I be worried? I'm going to the
doctors soon if it continues.
Thanks

any unusual or painful lumps should always
be checked out. at your age it is unlikely
to be anything more serious than a cyst.
it may not even be a cyst at all. you are
at the age where your breasts are still
growing so they might just be tender, and
the breast tissue slightly irregular.
i have really really lumpy boobs. they're
just naturally that way. you know those
leaflets you get that encourage breast
self-exams by feeling the boobs for lumps?
well i did that years ago and all i could
find was lumps lol. i didnt understand how
i was meant to look for a lump in a bag
full of lumps. i went to the doctor and
was examined and told i just had lumpy
boobs and that's the way i am. my mum is
the same.
but anyway. you should get it checked out
since you don't know yet whether it is
normal for you. and especially since it is
giving you a lot of pain when you touch
it. yes i would definately get a doctor
to check it out.

When I reached puberty at 15 I had exactly
the same!
Just behind the nipple was a hard,
circular area which was very tender to the
touch. If I pressed my chest against
something by mistake the pain was
terrible. This lasted about nine months
but eventually subsided. My cousin (male)
who is the same age as me had exactly the
same condition - panic not!!

I also had this when I was about your age.
Went to the doctor, he told me excess
breast tissue during puberty is completely
normal.

Gah!! medical question. I hated this time
of puberty. yeah its normal. And usually
it happens on both nipples. Trust me. It
will hurt for awhile, so you'll feel like
a girl with no boobs that when you get hit
there you can be like. "OW MY MOOB health
forum!".. Ha no im not gay.

I had that when my boobs just started
growing and stuff. My friend went to a
doctor bak in Ukraine and she had the same
thing, this guy was an fool, he told her
they have to cut it out, and so they
did...... After that she started having
like problems and stuff and like a year
later it turned into cancer....so shes
still fighting it.
Its normal it willl go away, dont worry.

This Is Normal Posted: 12-03-07 21:09pm
this is normal if is painful take some
painkiller and a warm wet towel will
help.those goes away with time, if they
don't you need to see your doctor if you
are smoking pot the pot may create an
unbalance with your hormones and create
this. but because your age I think is
normal if you see blood or milk comming
out your niple you need to see your doctor
right away..
