HISTORY - Total Hip Replacement 1 year ago. Surgery to fix broken femur (same leg) in May 2007.

Since about sept, I've had a weird feeling in my thigh, when I lay in bed..more recently I have felt it other places too, sitting in a chair, on a horse...I fully intend to ask my surgeon about it on my next visit, but one appt got cancelled. Last few days I have noticed that after I ride, the feeling gets worse, when I am laid in bed, with almost a burning feling going down my leg.... Crying or Very sad but when feeling for it, I cant pin-point it... Crying or Very sad

I know it's been a long time since either surgery to get an infection now, but it has been known for me to get infections months after the surgery Rolling Eyes

What do you reckon?

Maybe the nerves have been affected by the replacement?

Right. Any other diagnostics? Would an MRI help, for example?

I doubt very seriously if you would have an infection after such a long time....It could be scar tissue or your body just telling you not to do that.....I would have it checked out but seeing my husband had a hip replacement I know that there are some things that you just can't do anymore.....I doubt that he could ride a horse as this is really putting stress on that joint where they did their surgery...

Hope you are now doing better.....
