About 3 years ago, when I was 17, I developed a stress fracture in my leg right above my knee from running too much. I was doing about 10 miles a day before it happened. So I was off of it for a few months and it healed. So I started running again, I got another stress fracture in the same leg, except this time it was about 2 inches below the knee. I stayed off of it and never felt comfortable enough to run. Every once in a while the second fracture point will feel a bit off. Fast forward to curret day, I'm a 20 year old male. I'm thinking about joining the Army. I don't know if I'm psyching myself out or not, but it feels as though my bone is cracking right at the stress fracture point again. I haven't been doing any physical activity (besides the normal walking). I've been taking Calcium pills for the past month to help speed up recovery. Yet every morning I'll wake up, and after the first few steps, it cracks right where I had my second stress fracture. And it just seems to be getting progressively worse. I'm at the point now where my leg actually hurts a bit.
Any ideas? I'm probably going to see the sports doctor I previously saw. But any insight would be nice.
