That is true. They are being recalled. Something in them reacts if swallowed and creates something similar to the date rape drug.

yea i just saw the thing about thomas the train.. jacob LOVES him.. good thing i didnt buy him the stuff i wanted to for his birthday.

is there a MAIN company that it seems to be centered around? Or just toys from China?

different companies, all in china.

i think the fisher-price recalls were the most shocking. you'd think a huge company like that would have higher standards.

i think of it as a good thing. of course i'd rather there be no need for recalls, but these big recalls are forcing companies to adhere to stricter rules.

also, most of the recalls have been voluntary recalls. like the thomas trains- yes they had lead paint, but probably not enough to hurt anyone. of course they couldn't take the chance so they voluntarily recalled them.

the aquadots are a different story and that's just crazy to me!

I guess the weird thing is i have never heard of these things. Chyanne isn't interested in this stuff. Or the fact that i won't buy her stuff like that because it ends up all over the house, or in the carpet lol. That's to bad about the little boy though. And it's sad like suzy said how a lot of things are getting recalled.

well, you have the option of not buying toys made in china. china does make 80% of our toys, so there won't be as much of a huge variety, plus you'll have to pay more.

i don't know if i'm a little too lax, but this doesn't really phase me. if a toy is recalled i will take it away, but i'm not going to shy away from china-made goods just because of this. my toys were probably dripping with lead when i was a baby, and i'm still here.

yea i just heard that from a friend a couple of days ago. it's shocking that they'd use that substance on a kids toy!

they didn't knowingly use ghb, the substance they used breaks down in the body to become ghb. clearly they didn't research whatever it was they did use!

shouldn't there have been some test to see if it was toxic or not? i wonder if the packaging said non-toxic on it.
