I have now been light headed for about 4 months. Everyday, all day long. My Dr reckons its down to anxiety, the weird thing being I am not anxious, stressed or worried about ANYTHING. One thing I did wonder was hypoglycemia, as after a night on the beer, this exaggerates my light headedness and I have had anxiety attacks the day after alcohol. However if I dont drink for weeks on end I still feel just as light headed. People mention when these symptoms come on (thatll be all day then), to eat somethign sweet, as if it was blood sigar related that would get it back up. Ive tried this and it does nothing at all, in fact itmight make it worse. My diet is pretty good and I take a multi vitamin each day. What can I be tested for additionally to anxiety which i dont think I have. Because nobody should be light headed everyday for this long surely. Its everyday.

Drinking beer. The day after I do, its like an all day panic attack. I actually find after a couple it eases it in the beginning. Although I have had times when even a few beers hasnt eased my light headedness. If I take my mind off it it tends to go away. Im told the trick is to tell yourself everyday you dont care your light headed, that your so fed up with it you dont care that youve got it anymore. Easier said that done. Either that or it could be hypoglycemia or summit.

i have been feeling dizzy for about a year now and its making me feel really tired all the time i struggle to get out my bed in the mornings and when im at work all i can think of is going home to my bed. I have been at the doctors and there is nothing wrong with me, thank goodness. But this light-headed feeling is really annoying. It doesnt stop me doing daily things though but it is constantly there i find it is worse if i have a late night. But even if i have 10 hours sleep its still there. When i see the doctor i end up leaving fustrated cause he puts it down to anxiety. I dont have anxiety this constant dizzieness will probably give me anxiety though. I dont know what its is but i want rid of it, Oh and plus i get headaches quite frequently!!! The thought of drinking alchohol make me feel even more dizzy and sick, cause i already feel like i have a hangover every day. Right i will stop rambling on. If anyone knows what im talking about and knows how to get rid of this, please help!!!

Laurab- I might suggest a second opinion from a different doctor. Other than that, do you feel emotionally/psychologically disconnected at all? Do you feel sensations less strongly or have a slower reaction time (like you're drunk?) If so, that would be something to go to a psychologist about.

i know completely what you all are talking about. i'm 16 years old and i've been going through this feeling for two and a half years. i had a very trematic life in the 8th grade becuase kids would constantly tease me. i don't know if this had an affect on anything. have the rest of you with this problem had something trematic happen in your lifE? and tonight i'm on the internet to pick up some meditation tips. maybe that can clear a pathway. but i understand what you all are saying. my doctor thinks i'm crazy. i feel for you all. it is so annoying. but i'm really happy to hear that i'm not the only one.

Dizzy/Lightheaded
I started out getting dizzy spells occasionally and thought that perhaps I wasn't eating enough or waiting too long in between meals. Then it started to become more frequent until I was feeling lightheaded and dizzy everyday. Usually, the only that helped me feel better for a short while but it didn't matter if I ate a full meal..I would still feel the same. I too thought I was hypoglycemic so I started watching what I ate and tried eating smaller meals throughout the day. I could go through the day doing things like usual, but I was lightheaded the whole time. If I laid down the room would be spinning. If I got out of bed too quickly I would get dizzy. I would get headaches and I was extremely sensitive to the light. My vision was also blurred. Anyway, I thought I could handle things myself until one day I got dizzy driving and almost side swiped another car on the highway. I made an appt. with my doctor the next day and she diagnosed my symptoms as a viral infection in my ear. Basically I had an ear infection, but it was viral and not a bacterial infection so you have to wait until it goes away. She prescribed to me medication that would help with my dizziness/lightheaded. She said that the dizziness/lightheaded comes from the equilibrium being off and your brain needing to compensate for the imbalance. My doc also mentioned that if I didn't feel better in two weeks to definitely follow up because in any case I may need to see a specialist such as an Ear,Nose Throat doctor (ENT) or a neurologist. So, let's see what happens. Hopefully I feel better in a few weeks.

Anxiety and what it does to you
i totaly understand where you are all coming from. Ive been suffering from anxiety for 6 years now. I'm 20 years old and i'm just managing to get over it but it's hard. Everyone in this room is saying the common things to do with anxiety

Dizzy
Heart pulpitations
Pain in arm jaw back neck so on
light headedness
Fear of brain tumour
tight pressure in the head. Which could be tension. Or sinitus which is common and people think they have a brain tumour
loss of weight
shaking for no reason for a short period of time
agrophobia. Fear of going out. Which i've sufferd lightly from.
and Many Many other symptoms it's all just the head playing tricks on you. It's called fight or flyight. We had it from the cave men times to help us pump adreniline around our body to either help us run faster hence the flyight. Or be quicker and abit stronger. Hence fight. Unfortunaly evolution forgot to switch it off so we still have it. But it's totaly natural and very scary at times. Just breath it out

Anxiety DISSORDER, + cure
hey all

I have been suffering from anxiety for 4 years
Once i lived though over 200 panic attacks all realating to the same things eventully i just got used to it.

The things that happen to me are

Dizziness!
shakeing for a few minutes
feeling of over all weakness
eyes cant focus
heart hurts
the area around my heart hurts to
my back, arm , chest, head, neck hurt aswell
i can feel my heart beat like its my best friend
(alawys hear it thumping )
im really sensitive to touch
I always feel like i cant breath, but i can
feel like im going to lose controll of my body
feel like im going to DIE!

With my anxiety its one thing outta that to happen, it will make me panic

But dudes, its normal. you HAVE an ANXIETY DISSORDER
live with it its not going away.

The thing your all doing wrong is that you are abuseing your DISSORDER, your not going out, ur not exersising ur DRINKING AND DOING DRUGS anything to make the pain of what we have to live though just leave our minds for even a hour,( trust me i have been there )
so many times have i yelled out to my nabour saying HELP HELP IM DIEING!
but hey im still here.
if you all where normal people like most
the dizzyness would go away in a day.

all you have to do is
1 DONT THINK ABOUT IT
2 DONT STAY IN UR ROOM ALL DAY
3 TALK TO PEOPLE
4 DONT DRINK OR DO DRUGS
5 IF YOUR BEING A HERMIT DONT SMOKE IT MAKES IT WORSE!
6 LAUGH, CRY, GET ANGRY!

Thing i found that cured my anxiety was that i finally came to realise that, when we first get the dissorder all we want to do is hide and we find ourselfs spending 90% of our lifes, wishing we didnt have this BS dissorder
and we have to much time on our hands
the only cure is, to go abck out into the world, and be like you once where.
keeping busy = the only real cure for it.
then in a months time, ull say, oh thats right didnt i have an anxiety dissorder?
well you still do, you just got over it!
the only 1 bump in the road to doing this
is when you first start to do this is you may not like it or you may panic or feel thouse same feelings, but DONT THINK ABOUT IT GIVE INTO IT ITS UR DISSORDER LOVE IT WANT IT, then it gose away..
Hope this helps!
I lost all of my best YEARS TO THIS DISSORDER DONT LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU ALL i got it at 16 and didnt get over it till 20
i lost my youth! but i got it back, IM NOT SAYING ITS EASY TO LIVE WITH THIS, but dudes

its all in your mind, your mind is ur mind, and you are in controll.

dizzy
i've been light headed and dizzy for 5months now and its runing my life! its constantly there every second of every day. sometimes i cant even get out of bed in a morning becasue its that bad, i cant even go out of the house cause i feel like im going to faint, its really getting me down, ive had to leave college becasue its so bad, ive been to see the doc and she says its anxiety and stress, but can anxiety really cause it to be like this everyday?? i dont even feel anxious so i dunno whats going on. everymorning i try telling myself that im not dizzy and its all in my head but then when i walk i trip and stumble. im constanlty laying down cause i feel better when i do. when my mind is on something else i find it goes away, so i try to get my mind on other stuff now but it doesnt always work when i do it myself. i basically have no life at the moment, it used to come and go but its constant now and its really depressing, i thought i was the only one like it untill i found this website, i know exaclty what your all going through, but what can i do to make it go away?? im losing my friends becase im too dizzy to go out and socialise with them... help!!!??

Man I feel such a relief, not being the only one with these symptoms. Some peoples descriptions on here are EXACTLY what i have been experiencing for a couple of weeks now. If it is true that it is all in the head then I am going to try my best to fight this, good luck to all, and stay strong!!! we can get through it

dizziness
I know exactly what you guys went through! the same thing happened to me a couple years ago. I felt dizzy for 4 months straight I also have anxiety and panic disorder. and they kept blaming it on that.

So here was what was wrong with me and it wasn't my anxiety. I had anemia. I was dizzy because I didnt have enough iron in my blood.

2 years later it happened again. but I take iron everyday so it wasnt that. I also had b12 deficiency.

so get blood test done.
