I LOVE my mother in law! She's one of the nicest, most positive people I've ever met in my life.

Don't get me started about my own mother though. Evil or Very Mad

Well she's not technically my mother in law, yet, but I love her! She's helped Shane & I so many times I lost count, we could never ever repay her for all the things she's done for us. We never really 'clicked' until I had Kaylee but we're getting along perfectly!

I like my mother inlaw too. She is irritating as all get out sometimes, but she is WAY better than my own mom.

I never got to meet my mother in law..........she passed away from cancer when my dh was 21. She was only 40. It's funny though because we think that our daughter is a re-incarnation of her. There are so many things that she does that makes my husband really think that it is possible.

I wish that i would have gotten to meet her because everything that I hear about her tells me that we would have gotten along great.

i don't really know mine and i don't have to deal with her. she lives almost 3000 miles away so we never see her. i met her once before we left phoenix and she's been to visit twice since finn was born.

so, i guess she's basically a stranger to me.

i did try to make a small effort. i emailed her a bunch of pictures because nick never does. after more than a week i was like "geez, hasn't your mom gotten those pics yet?" and nick said that she emailed him and told them she loved them. *i* sent them to her so she would write back to me!

Great story about Aaron's mom.

This was way back in '98, just a few weeks after we started dating. We walked into Aaron's house and his mom was unwrapping an Elvis collector's plate (she's a huuuuge Elvis freak). So she showed it to me and was going on about how many others she had, etc, and I wasn't really that interested in Elvis collector plates but I was trying to be polite and listen to her. Anyway, she then says "And one day I'll hand them down to my granddaughters!" And she gave me this look. She denies this to this day, but she had "I want you to give me some female grandbabies!" written all up and down her face! I'd only been with her son a few weeks! I was like Shocked Ohhhh-kay then... and asked Aaron "dude what's up with your mom? She wants me to have your babies."

She still loves her Elvis plates. Laughing She likes to show them to Alyvia too!

Well, I think I'd have rather had a regular MOM than a nice mother inlaw. But... I don't really have a choice. Wink

I've only met my mil once. She lives in a different country. But the month I spent with her, she was a complete sweetheart and treated me like royalty. The language barrier was kinda hard...she speaks indian and a little bit of spanish, and I speak some spanish and NO indian. my fil is awesome too, but I can communicate with him just fine.

Mine isn't my MIL yet but I still don't like her. She has called me names since the first time I met her. When she came to the hospital to see MY son when he was born she threw a fit because she couldn't be in the delivery room and my mom was in there so it wasn't 'fair' and the whole time she was there she did her hardest to make sure my family got to hold him little as possible..yeah the list goes on lol
