Are You Pro-life Or Anti-choice?

Pro-life= you are against abortion personally but would not make it illegal for anyone else to have one.

Anti-choice= you want abortion to be illegal.

Which one are you?

Pro-life for myself, abortion is not something i would want to do, as for others them getting an abortion doesn't effect me so why should i care? The only opinion i have on the matter is lowering the amount of weeks because my sister neighbour's neice was born at 21weeks and survived so it makes me wonder if 24 weeks is a little too advanced

My personal cut-off date is when more than 50% of babies born survive, and 21 weeks is below that.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Most of those abortions are done for reasons like fetal deformity or maternal health. 90% of abortions are done before the end of the first trimester (week 12).

I like the not my body; not my choice attitude. I hope you do realize that a fetus surviving birth at 21 weeks in rare and not the norm; or we could simply remove all fetii from their mother's wombs at 21 weeks and negate the entire arguement.

Neither... I've had an abortion and I'd do it again under the same circumstances.

As would we all; but life is not perfect. Even with perfect birth control, women would still be raped, fetuses would still become deformed and mothers could still be endangered.

I think I am going to clarify one of my stances on abortion in the case of a rape victim; I don't mean just a woman raped by an unknown assailant..I mean the girl raped by her male relatives; the woman raped in the marital bed; the woman raped by a male date (think date rape drug here) or so stoned/ drunk she is unconcious and he has sex with her without her permission.

All of those are rape so ya NA.. I would like to see an end to abortion necessiated as well but I wnt to see an end of the circumstances that lead to unplanned pregnancies as well; particularly rape.

That's an entirely different topic. What you've said here, in effect, is, (as Jincks has pointed out) that you think it is sad the 90% of abortions are done in the earliest trimester. The only possible meaning of that sentence is that you'd be happy if they were done later.

I'm pro-life. Abortion disturbs me, but I find that taking away someone's right to choose for themselves is a huge moral blunder.

I think Jincks said it: instead of putting energy into simply disallowing abortion, we should put our energy into ending and preventing the causes of many unwanted pregnancies: rape, lack of education etc. etc AND into other alternatives to abortion to make them easier and more accessible to women. But never, ever take away any of the full array of choices.

I am pro choice, I choose life. pro human rights

Abortion is a violation of a human beings right to life but making abortion Ilegal may cause considerations regarding the right to control your own body, so I do not wish to make having an abortion ilegal, I seek to make preforming an abortion ilegal, to hold the doctors responsible, it is not their body and there actions violate the right to life of the child, a woman has an inherant right to seek an abortion but a doctor has no inherant rights to preform an abortion.

that's a cop out.

A woman has the right to seek one, but a doctor doesn't have a right to perform one?

So what? A woman can perform an abortion on herself with a coat hanger and it's all daisies and daffodils, but if a doctor does it, it's a huge moral issue?
