you dont have to be crafty to make a heart shaped cake. you simply buy the cake pan in that shape lol

i got a big piece of plywood before and spray painted a american flag the on the american flag i used black spraypaint and did welcome home.
We also use car paint and write all over our cars and last time i put a sign on our bedroom door that said welcome home ssgt price, now take me to bed or lose me forever (from top gun)

i know this sounds corny but it would be funny . hire someone to do like a signing welcome greetings. Have them come knock on the door when things settle down from the excitment from coming back.

Sweetie, he is coming home to be with you. I'm pretty sure if you wore a sexy nightie and held a can of whipped cream, he'd be way happier than a cake Wink

A flag cake or a heart cake sound great. Heart cakes are easy, easy. I have tons of heart pans and heart cupcake pans. All you have to do is frost them.

My husband went away for a few months. Not to war - just out of town working for a few months.

Before he came home, I went and got my hair cut and styled different, bought myself a smoking hot dress and a hotel room at a really nice hotel.

When he stepped off that plane, he didn't even recognize me. Smile
