... so i missed 1 pill in the pack but i am back on track now but the day i missed the pill, i started my period. is this bad??

You did not start your period. It is called spotting now that you are on the pill. Keep taking your pills and do not shorten the schedule. When you get to the placebo week, only wait 7 days before starting a new pack. Make sure to take ALL the pills in your pack. You should be fine.
