Big clots - abnormal period - painful cramps ...
Posted: 11-08-07 16:02pm

Ok, I'm seventeen and I thought I was pregnate, well I still think I am but I'm really unsure right now. I had a few signs of being pregnate and that made me unsure because I wasn't showing enough signs but I wanted to wait to have a test done cause I figured it was too soon to have one done. But, I've started bleeding but I don't think its my period because its too abnormal for me, but my blood had really big clotts in it and I'm having really painful cramps and normally they don't get this bad, but my mom had to come get me and take me home because I cloud hardly walk with out crying. So my question is, do you think its just a really bad period? Miscarrage? Or what? please help because im so unsure.

Did you ask your mom this question? What did she think was wrong when she came to get you?

Did you have sex without contraception recently?

The first thing you can do is take a home pregnancy test as ANGELOS MAMA suggested. If that is negative and you are still having these cramps, maybe you should have your doctor check you out.

First off, you never said if you were late for your period. What signs of pregnancy were you having? Pregnancy signs and PMS signs are very similar.

How late was your period? A missed or late period can also cause extreme cramping and clotting. A lot of early miscarriage don't, by the way.

No one on a message board can tell you whether you are having a miscarriage, have had a miscarriage or were ever pregnant or not. You will need to take a pregnancy test - there would be enough hormone left in your body for a positive if you are or were pregnant.

Do not take this lightly. A miscarriage can cause severe bleeding if that is what it is. You will need to be seen by a doctor!

Yes I told my mom when i first started thinking i was pregnate, and I was about a month late for my period.I hadn't taken a test yet because my mom wanted to wait until we could go to the doctor and know for sure if i was or wasnt. My mom is going to take me to the doctor tomorrow. Don't get me wrong for me saying this, I wasn't planning on having a baby, we used a condom but it broke. But, if i was pregnate i didn't want to lose it, not that way and no other way. If i was pregnate i was going to have the baby and make the best out of the situation. please dont take me to be a fool I did have protected sex but even then sometimes things happen. I was just very unsure of weather i had a miscarriage or not.

I didn't ask if you had unprotected sex recently because I was going to say you were a fool if you had said yes. I only asked to see there was a chance you could actually be pregnant. You wouldn't believe the ways some people think they can get pregnant, like by oral sex, for example.

I hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow.

A home pregnancy test will tell you whether or not you are pregnant just as well as a doctor's test. Wink They cost around $10.

A miscarriage can cause SEVERE bleeding and it can be VERY NECESSARY to be seen by medical professionals. If you ever believe you are having a miscarriage go to your doctor or the nearest emergency room to be seen. Women can die if they lose too much blood and some miscarriages continue to bleed for weeks and weeks. You would need to be seen and get a D & C.

Good luck.

Pregnancy test will tell you if you are indeed pregnant(proper spelling) even if you did indeed miscarry the pregnancy hormone will rem ian in your system for a couple of weeks.
