Toddlers are well known for being picky eaters, but there are ways to steer meals and snacks in a healthy direction.
Toddlers can usually eat the same meals as the rest of the family. Toddlers still have small stomachs so may need to eat small meals frequantly. Letting him eat as much or as little as he likes is a good strategy, as long as the snacks you offer between meals are healthy.
Try these for snack ideas:
a piece of wholemeal bread and butter,
a banana,
carrot and cucumer sticks,
a glass of milk.
Make sure your toddler eats food from all four foods groups (starch, fruit and vegetables, protein, dairy).
SALT! children between 1-3 years old should have no more than 2g of salt a day
Foods to avoid
shark, marlin or swordfish because these fish are high in mercury, which may affect the childs developing nervous system
Picky eaters.
Toddlers will not starve themselves; they will eat when they are hungry. And they get quite alot of nourishment and calories from drinking milk. if the refusal to eat is a way of getting attention, try sitting down and eating with him or let him be creative and give him some finger foods.
If anyone would like to add some recipe ideas, that would be great

Extremely eHealthy
If (s)he doesn't want to eat vegetables or is picky about that, a good way to get them to eat it is by putting it in other foods and mixing it in. They usually don't notice as much and enjoy it much more. For example, try putting corn and peas in their macaroni and cheese. It is much more healthy, and they still grin with excitement and love it in their bellies.

Toddler recipes
I decided to go through all my cookbooks and choose one or two toddler-friendly recipes and cook them each week. I include my toddler in the process by taking him to the supermarket and he sits on the bench while I cook, helping me when he can. I have decided to keep an online diary of my efforts if it's any help
