Q: Very Long Period. Just Started Birth Control. Help!

I am 23 and just started my first pack of Alesse 28.
I took my first pill on the first day of my period. Now I have 9 pills left before I am supposed to start the placebo week to start my next period and I am still bleeding from the previous period! Shocked

Should I be worried about this or is it just my body adjusting to the new hormones? Question I have tried posting this question on other boards and have come up with no answers. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

YES, that is your body adjusting to the hormone levels.

You should continue to take the pill as usual, and have your placebo week too.

Thanks
Hi Carifairy

Thank you for replying to my post. I thought it was probably from the hormones but better to ask just in case, you know? I do plan on taking the rest of the pack (placebo week too) Hopefully things will clear up soon.

Thanks again!
