Q: Testicle Turned Around

Dear People

I've been examining my testicle lately, and I am now sure that the one is turned the other way. it is simply facing the other way. its the one that hurts sometimes also. I dunno how long I've had it turned, and if I knew which way it was twisted to get there, I could work on slowly twisting it back, but I'm afraid of making a 360 turn and doing some real damage. I saw a doctor but he didnt look at it, he sent me to get an echography, the guy there didnt have any time and just checked for lumps or something I think, then said that I'm perfect.

I am 21, and did tons of sport, dance, and martial arts.
8 years ago I had some first pain in my teste, but I was travelling.
last year I had my first girlfriend and it was always alot worse, especially when I was excited but didnt ejaculate. it got so bad, I could barely walk , sit, concentrate, or do anything. I used my extreme willpower to block out the pain.

but now it feels kinda ok, but its still a little sensitive... I am thinking of going to see a specialist... I dont dance or do sport anymore cause of a knee injury. um... has anybody had the same experience...
or, does anyone have any idea of this....
thanks everybody,
mike

BTW, how do you call a specialist in this field? and does anybody know the name in french as I am currently living in france?

PS thanks

A testicle turned the wrong way is not a good thing, because it can, in many cases, disrupt the bloodflow to the testicle and damage it. Did you tell the doctor about the pain you have felt in the past?

Because I don't speak perfect french, so I just told him that I had pain, then I expected him to make a diagnosis or something, but he just told me "ok , you will go make a echographie..." end of story. On top of it, in the end he gave me prescription for antibiotics, and anti-inlamatory,( for an infection I think) without even checking to see if I have symptoms of fever, lymph nodes, or other stuff.

Just one question though, is there a name for a testicle turned around, I've been searching for weeks on the internet, and all I find are people with stories similar to mine.... Is this similar to testicular torsion? I never read up on that. I ruled it out cause they always say that torsion if not treated, will die very quick. I've had for long time so...

PS,Thanks for you post Marvel,
Mike

PPS, Any body had an operation to fix testicle torsion already? anybody know what they do? thanks

It does sound like testicular torsion, though I've heard that's supposed to be incredibly painful and quite likely to cause severe damage in a very short period of time and needs operated on immediately.

All I can suggest is finding a doctor who speaks more english :/
