I had no idea which topic to post this under so Im posting it under this one.I really need some help
For the past 2 or 3 days i been having a tingling feeling in my leg and I also feels like im losing feeling in my leg.I dont feel paralyzed or anything but it feels like im losing strength in my left leg.It kinda feels like the leg is sleep or something but i have this problem thru most of the day.Im only 23 so I dont think its cuz of old age or anything.
Does anybody know what could be wrong with my leg?If so does anybody have any solutions?Should I go see a doctor?
I went to the doctor and they said i have a pinched nerve. They gave me Motrin 800 mg and a muscle relaxer called flexavil?is there anyway I can speed up the healing process.dont get me wrong the medicine works but once it wears off im back in pain again, mainly my back. Also how long does it normally take to heal
Hey Reezy i am having the same problem in my left leg now. Saw a doc and he said i did have a pinched nerve. Just wondering how your recovery process went. How long did it take to get your muscle back in you calf. Right now i can not even support my weight or run on my left leg. I am hoping it comes back soon and the pain to stop. Ryan.

I know exactly what you are talking about... I have the same exact feelings... but I've had mine since Dec. '08. It didn't start off like that but the past month or so I've been getting those feelings. I've been going to the doctor since January this year. I've had so many tests done; like, 3 MRI's, 5 X-rays, nerve tests, blood test (which I'm still waiting for the results), etc. So far, the the 4 doctors I'm seeing all believe it's RSD (Reflexive Sympathetic Dystrophy), it's Type I of CPRS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). It affects your nervous system. In addition to all the other test I've been through, I also have more to come; like, a CT scan, a bone scan, a thermogram, and a couple others. I'm determined to get down to the bottom of this. So basically, if just for curiosity itself, look RSD up to learn more about it and maybe, this is what you have. Knowing the problem is half the battle. Good Luck!
Is typhoid related to lossing sensation in your legs?
when i was maybe 12 or 13 (not really sure) I lost senseation in both legs. at that age I wasnt very higine. Therefore I had typhoid and now I am trying to figure out if one is related to the other. hopefully I am ok now but I still wonder what the hell happened to my legs
@Hask, It can be to the nerve in your spine being pinched. You must have that checked immediately. In my opinion and it is only an opinion not a diagnosis is that it could be a sign of spinal stenosis.
i have problems with my hips. always acheing feels like somone has put a neidle into my bone. thursday night i took a tumble and well off a curb and landed on my right side ... hit my head and badly hurt hip. from my knee to just about my ribs is one big bruise.
last night i came over all light headed and felt very sick. and lost the feeling on on side of my right leg
what could this be ?? i have been to the doctors about it and said it is very odd that a 15 year old girl comes in complaining of hip pain so it cant be good ??

LLD Functional - when do the muscles stop pulling!
Have you looked up LLD? There are 2 types: Structural and (i think with googling and looking it up again) Functional. The functional one affects the "hip bone" by pulling the " iliac crest in a superior direction" - so it pulls the hip up! I had this last year but wasn't sure why it was hurting in place where no joint could be! Like a niggle right on the bone.
Mine starting to happen last year and I've been to the docs not knowing what was wrong and just handing over all my symptoms concerning my back. They put it down to "recurring back problem" due to heavy wear and tear of the bones in my back/lower back. The things is it wasn't.
I had this niggle but said nothing. about 7 months on my back get worse and I couldn't put pressure on to my heel of the left foot. I lived like this for what has felt like ages! I just don't put as much pressure on my heel, you know? Life moves on...
2 days ago I was walking with my son in town and my legs just went! I felt dizzy-sick after and had to have an early night that night. Next day I felt weaker than normal. I cracked on juct the same, as ya do!
I dropped my son off at his grandparents house and went off into town. I studied in the library for about 4 hours (with some stand-ups in between for stiff -movement reasons). After this I went to Asda to buy the normal shopping food-eating bits, for dinner(I had tapas type stuff, it was lovely) . I was walking down one shopping ally when for a split second my feeling just went in "both" legs! I felt this dizzy-sickness afterwards that stuck with me for most of the day - although I do smoke so eating later still happened. What I remember before the feeling went was that I put pressure on the heel of my left foot. Straight after this the feeling just went! Scary stuff! I'm 34 fit and healthy with a good life; life bettering prospects to boot!
Not sure if this'll help you, what I've shared but thought it right to type it out.
I was surprised to see that others on here had a similar experience to mine. Last night I was standing talking and all of a sudden felt like my leg went numb. Just my right leg around my knee area. I fell to the ground. I have not had any leg pains or back pains or anything I can see that has caused this. I don't know if it was just some fluke thing or I am going to see something reoccruing. Anyone have any suggestions?
About 2 months ago I got severe pain in my left shoulder. It later moved around sometimes within minutes to the clavicle area, the forearm (where it was more like a "squeeze" feeling. It was so bad I almost passed out in church.
In bed at night it was actually relieved more when I lay on my left side as opposed to my right.
After 4-5 weeks the pain went away !
BUT, it was replaced by a pins and needles feeling in my left arm and hand.
BUT WAIT ! It gets weirder in that last night I also got the pins and needles in my left leg and for a short while in my right arm and leg as well.
I also have this skin sensation on my left chest sometimes just below my breast. Not a pain, not a tingle, but more like a "grip" sort of feeling at the skin level or at least outside the ribs and not deep in my chest.
it sounds like pinched spinal nerve. you wont know how serious it is untill you see spine surgeon who is specialist on spine. he will most likely do mri on you. a gp doc will not have the knowledge to diagnose this...pete
No one has obviously heard of guillan barre syndrome. I had not untill it took me in feb 2010. It started with tiredness, then pins and needles in my legs and hands, then a bad back. I left it to long before I went to see someone, I ended up in accident and emergency to get pain relief. Two days later i can't breath, I get put on life support for two weeks, when I woke up I was fully paralysed. I spent two months in hospital and I am still in recovery. I spent 14 months in a wheelchair. I have nearly fully recovered from the nerve damage the illness destroys but I still live on strong pain relief, I am just blessed to be alive. This is not to scare anyone, just to raise awareness of the illness as like me had never heard of it before.
Mine started after a car accident,2 years ago, I had numbness and tingling in both arms and hands as well as a 2 inch strip up the right side of my face. Since then it's only got worse and encompasses the whole right half of my head with extreme pain in my right face and it's affecting my vision, along with trouble to completely open my right eye. I'm also losing feeling from the knees down in both feet, plus now I'm finding a loss through out my body. It's making it hard to experience pain, finding cuts on my hands etc. and only realizing it when I see blood on things. I was told in the hospital after suffering four blackout during the first year after the accident that I had sustain some Brain damage and was probably suffering from some seizures but it couldn't be proven but take anti seizure meds just to be sure. I have had none since. Whew OK any ideas would be greatly appreciated
