Back in november my live-in boyfriend got these pimple like bumps (tiny) on his lower abdomen and near his genitals. We looked it up online and deemed that they were normal...But he still made an appointment with his primary care physician (we have the same pcp). The bunps started to develop into small warts. They are mostly on his stomach but he does have 1 wart on his penis. I have no symptoms. Our Dr. Told him that he couldn't pass the warts on t me and that he should just get some compound w to treat them and come back in 6 weeks. I had my annual ob/gyn appointment. I told her about this situation and she said my bf might have hpv (and therefor so do I we have been active). She tested me for hpv but I won't go back to see her until may7. My bf tried to make an appointment with a dermatologist or urologist but he needs a referral from the pcp. He is going to planned parenthood later this week. My question is could this be something other than hpv? If not was it negligent of our pcp to say he couldn't pass the warts on to me? I know our society is overly letigious but I am really upset about this and I kind of blame the Dr. Please respond with any insight!!!!

Thank you!

They could be just some regular kind of wart that cannot be passed onto you. However, tests should have been done before the doctor ever said that he could not pass them to you. Good luck. If it is hpv, I would be giving that doctor a piece of my mind!

Might be muscollum contagiosum (sp?).. Looks like a soft wart, but its not a wart at all, it is highly contagious, but can be treated and shouldn't reoccur
