Root Canal, No Pain?
Posted: 11-07-07 09:30am

I had a root canal yesterday morning. I was prescribed Clindamycin (3 tablets a day) to get rid of an affection at the at the bottom, near my nerves. Some IBuprofen (800mg tablets) and vicodin.

A few questions I had.
Wouldnt it have been better to clear the infection first before having gone through with the root canal? what if the infection doesnt clear? Seems like a waste of 1grand.

And is it normal that I have no pain? oO
I was prescribed all this pain medication, but its been 24hrs and I have no pain...at all, a little sore.. on a scale of 1-10, a .5 lol...

Thanks

I have had a couple of root canals in the past several months and I didn't have any pain either. My Endodontist didn't wait for my infection to clear up either. I guess they know how to judge whether to wait or not. I know they put in medicated fillings in and then let them to their magic and then bring you back.

Best of luck....
