I have been dating th same guy for quite some time and ive been on the pill for 3 months now last month i had the strangest period ever where my period came only 10 days after my previous period this month my "period" started at its usual time except for it wasnt like normal it was less blood and yet the blood was darker and thicker (needless to say my body is confusing me slightly) and yes, we do have sex. this is the only sign of anything i have experienced, and the strange dark bleeding lasted just as long as my normal period would have lasted... excpet im not exactly convinced it was my period... i faithfully take the pill everyday within the same hour so can someone help me and tell me the likely hood of me being pregnant?

Sounds like it is from your birth control pills. They can significantly change your period. Your chances of being pregnant are very low if you are taking your birth control pills as prescribed.

If you are thinking you may be pregnant, the best thing to do would be to take a pregnancy test. It would be accurate.

Are you taking any medication? I was on a prescription for migraines and it made the pill pretty much ineffective.

But the only change I ever found was for the first two months I was on the pill, my period was really short. So it may just be your body reacting weird to the hormones in the pill. Like Igni said, all you have to do is take a pregnancy test. If it's negative, you can always talk to your doctor and see if the weird periods are normal.

I had a very stressful month, too, I wont even go into my bad luck and rather incredibly insane past 3 weeks.

So first step: breathe calmly, take test, then make new steps.

No, I am not taking any other medication no painkillers, no antibiotics or drugs of any kind. I do not smoke, drink, or do any illegal or legal consumption of a drug.

But, thank you. Still, if anyone has any other input it would be much appreciated!

(and sorry for all the terrible grammar last night; I was terribly tired and it was awfully late.)

More answers aren't going to change the reality. You are taking birth control. Birth control pills are hormones. Hormones affect the lining of your uterus. When you bleed every month, it is the shedding of the lining of your uterus. If you are bleeding less, it is due to the hormones in the birth control pills. This is one of the lovely, wonderful benefits of birth control pills. Lighter periods = YAY!

Bleeding is very seldom a sign of pregnancy. Especially if you were bleeding at the timinig of your period.

But, like I said, take a test and then you will know for sure.

Condoms are a great back up to BCP! Good luck.

Good for you littlemus! Maybe before you go to planned parenthood you should put together a list of questions about how your BCP pills can affect you and your period so you can avoid this type of freakout later?

I'm glad you got the result you wanted!
