Im almost a teen and I have questions. I
have dischard and I was told that when
that has been going on for about a year
your period will happen quite soon. Is
this true? I have been having cramps down
there and I was told that's also a sign.
Is this true? Or is it just theres no
predicted time and it happens when it
happens?

Not necessarily. I didn't have any
discharge before my period first started.
There really is no way to predict when
your first period will start. Please talk
to your mom about this. She should be your
first source for your body, since she went
through it too!

I had no signs, no cramps, and no
discharge. I just started bleeding one
day when I was 12. Listen, don't rush the
thing either ... hopefully you'll be
granted good health ... and then you'll be
complaining about how irritating and
sometimes painful it is!

Ok thanks! Also, things arent going to
good between my mom and I. I really don't
talk to her much anymore.. and I have no
one else to talk to about that.

Sorry to hear about that. Coming into
menstruation is a rite of passage. So,
let us know here ... we'll be glad to
celebrate with you. Maybe go out and buy
a pair of red underwear to wear that
day!!! It's actually a huge change!
