Q: Strange Urethra Problem

I've been having this problem for about 8 months now. It started as a diagnosed yeast infection, but after that mostly was better, it's lingered on as the sensation of having to pee (mostly in urethra, not bladder) after I've done so. At other times during the day I'm fine, and I've probably started to avoid urinating now becuase it casues me discomfort for about 30 min- 1 hour after I do so. I'm not in pain, but it's definitely affecting my life. There is no infection, no std's. The doctors seem to have no idea what the problem is, and I'm quite devastated by that, as I am a very busy, otherwise healthy 22 year old woman. If anyone has any ideas, please please post them - I'm continuing going to specialists and getting tests done, so any ideas would be of help. It's also affecting my sex life, as (whether it's phsycological or physical) I'm having problems now getting 'wet', which has been far from a problem my whole life.

that's odd. i'm 16, otherwise healthy, and i've having the exact same problem. i thought it was in the bladder but now that i have had it for a while now, i can feel it more in the urethra. i haven't gone to the doctor yet for it cause i'm on my period right now. but I thought maybe it was overactive bladder? i'm not to sure how to think of it either. I just know I don't like to go to the bathroom anymore either. I try to avoid it but I can't. I don't really know what to do.

I'll let you know what I come up with - I'm just so afraid of coming back with a diagnosis of IC or another uncurable bladder or urethral disorder. Good luck!

Urethra sensation
I am also experincing a sensation in my urethra not my bladder. I feel as if I am leaking, but I am not. I have had this problem for months. I went to the emergency room last year because it became so uncomfortable that I was unable to sleep for days because of the dripping sensation. I was given medication for over-active bladder and directed to pursue diagnosis and remedy. So I went to a urologist. He basically told me that nothing is wrong and to ignore the sensation and re-toilet train myself. I am still concerned because I suffer flare ups about once a month. It is stressful and uncomfortable.
I am very confused because I am very healthy and fit with the exception of this issue. I drink cranberry juiceand take acidophilus to maintain urinary tract health.
Someone has to have an answer! If there are many of us here, then there are many more in this predicament. What is the answer?

frequent urination
Did anyone ever consider diabetes? Diabetes causes frequent urination but not necessarily pain. When you have adult onset diabetes, you produce a lot of sugar in your urine. I would imagine that anything in excess would probably be uncomfortable after a while. You should probably have a urinalysis conducted and your glucose levels checked. I'm just saying.
