Q: Room Sharing

did any of you girls share a room with a sibling when you were younger? do any of your kids share a room?

my house is pretty small but it is a 3 bedroomed. at the moment the spare room is a junk room. when the new baby is a few months old and ready for the big cot we are going to move our stuff into the spare room (get rid of the junk) and the new baby will be in his/her own nursery.

then when s/he is a bit older we are intending on him/her sharing with the child of the same sex (i.e layla or logan) this is because i don't think it's fair for opposite sex to share like layla and logan are at the moment when they start to get older. it's fine at the moment but i think it'll be better to have children of the same sex sharing.

i just wondered if you or your child share a room and what your experience were/are of it

I think in Florida children of the same sex can share a room until one of them is 3. Then they have to be in seperate rooms.

Don't qoute me on that though...

I shared a room with my sister untill I was prolly 12 or 13. Honestly the only thing I really hated was sharing a bed with her. She likes to rub peoples ears and face when she is going to sleep and I coudlnt stand it. I remeber one time I put a blanket down the middle of our bed and told her that she couldnt cross it.lol

I also hated the fact that she would always steal my clothes considering she is bigger then me. But I dont see anything wrong with kids sharing a room when they are young.

It might get more annoying to them when they get in their teenage years, becuase all teenagers want privacy, and not their little brothers or sisters running in and out of their room.

They really have laws on that kind of stuff...wow. I grew up sharing a room and showering with my siblings my whole life...thats jsut how i was raised

Your plan sounds good but Im torn because I aslo think the oldest child should get their own room first. I shared a room with 2 of my sisters until I was 9. By that time I was so happy to finally have my own room!

My husband's brother shared a room with his older sister when they were younger, but he probably moved out before the age of 2. Then my husband and his brother shared bunk beds until he moved out for college! He hated it, but not for any reason other than the fact that he had to have bunk beds.

I shared with my sister . We were 3 kids and of course my bro got his own room. I got used to sharing , I shared up until i was 19 when my sister got married.....

I shared with my sister until she moved out when she got married. In fact, I never had my own room until I was 17. There were 5 kids in our family so it was almost impossible for us all to have our own room.

finn and the new baby will be sharing a room. we live in a very small condo with only 2 bedrooms, and i see us here for at least another 2-3 years.

we're hoping to move in a few years and we'd be looking for a 4-bedroom home. so then they'd get their own rooms, but we're planning on 4-6 kids so eventually some would be sharing.

now i don't know since we're not there yet, but i'd think it would be fine for opposite sex siblings to share up until like 7-8 years old.

I shared a room with my sister til she moved out of the house. She is two years older than me so we were both well into our teenage years by the time she moved out. I loved sharing a room with her because it gave us more time together and in the end it brought us closer (at least til I moved 17,000 miles away from her).

I shared a room with my sister until I was 17 & moved out. My sister & I didn't get along at all growing up though so we were constantly at each others throats. When we have baby #2, they'll be sharing a room. I don't see any problem with opposite sex's sharing rooms until they are around 7-9 years old.

macy n liam cant share a room, the fight n refuse to sleep. when liam was still in a crib shed toss stuff in the crib. however roan and liam will prb share when they are older. like bridget i was a bunch of kids so eventually well have to figure something out or get a 8 bdrm home lol

i have never shared a room EVER.. so i have no advice and the fact i only have one child.

However my mom shared a room with 3 of her sisters and she said she hated it, was crowded and hated it even more when they put the baby in the room too (the youngest) because she would still get up in the night at wake them all up..

I dont beilieve the oldest should have their own room... (maybe thats because im the youngest) but i think if you were to give the oldest their own room the younger ones may think you favor the oldest one.

I shared with my sister from 3 months until i was 12 when she moved out. I loved it, i got on really well with my sister so there was no problem. The only thing that ever came up was that because i obviously went to bed before her (i'm 4 years younger) that she had to make sure she was quiet
