i have been off of birth control for 6 weeks. i am 4 weeks late for my period. however my hpts are coming back negative. could i still be pregnant? if i am not pregnant how long will it take to get a period after i stop taking the birth control?

Sometimes it takes people longer to get a period after stopping birth control, altough some it can also take a long time for someone to show positive on a home pregnancy test.

You need to look at the strength of the test, and you also need to take it with your first morning urine. If you think that you are pregnant go to the doctors for a blood test.
