i have a question that i hope i can get some help with. I have a friend that continuously takes her bc pills, she just skips her placebo pills and starts a new pack (to avoid getting a period). She has missed some pills, at times 2-3 days, and has had sex with her bf without using any other protection. She says she is not worried about getting pregnant because by continually taking the pill, even if she did get pregnant on those days that she missed the pills, she heard the pill kind of "aborts" the pregnancy. Is this true?

My question is this, if she continually takes her bc pills, without a period, how will she even know if she is pregnant? Will the fetus continue developing? Will she get pregnancy symptoms?

Sorry for so many questions, but we kind of were having a discussion about this and we are just curious. thanks.

The pill won't do anything to a fetus. I took bc for about 2 months before finding out I was pregnant (long story!) Can't really tell you how she would know unless she was having symptoms if she is skipping periods. Have her take a test is a week or two that's about it. Hard to say. But continually taking bc does not abort a baby.

I had this question also. because i've had some symptoms of being pregnant but i dont know if I am. (i'm taking the Yaz pill. ) my breasts have gotten larger and i've had really bad mood swings. so i didnt know whether i should keep taking the pill just in case i'm not pregnant And then i thought if i keep taking the pill and i am pregnant then i would hurt the baby, and i do not want to do that! i heard that i could kill the baby if i kept taking it, not knowing i was pregnant.

The pill will not affect a pregnancy as the other poster said. It is designed to either prevent it, or do it no harm.
