Please help I need to know if any one else has had anxiety feelings after being on xyrem. I started out taking 4.5 ml twice a night. I also take seroquel 25mg, which I am stopping in a few days. For 11 days it was 4.5 ml both doses. Then fri the doc. Upped the second dose from 4.5 ml to 6 ml b/c I was not resting well or staying asleep well on the second dose. Sat. I felt nervous and sun I was just felt totally overwhelmed and cried most of the day. Today I feel very nervous and fight tears several times at work. I have had problems with anxiety a few years ago and currently being treated for depression with effexor. Because of my history i’m not sure if it’s side effects or something else. Has anyone else had anxiety or feel like crying with xyrem? If so how long did it last?

Thank you
amy

Just to let anyone know who reads the above post. I spoke to my Dr.'s office and they suggest I stop the xyrem. I've been off xyrem for 6 days and all the bad feels are gone. Apparently sadness and anxiety can be side effects.

my mother was on xyrem for about two years. she developed seizures, fatigue, depression and she overdosed on it three times. the last time she died. her doctors wouldn't take her off of it, even though she was showing adverse reactions for a long time. be careful. it's a killer. afterall, it is GHB (date-rape drug).

Xyrem Side Effects-- Uncomfortable Feeling
i feel weird and anxious and just 'not good' when I take my Xyrem at night, before I finally fall asleep. I used to take a different cocktail of sleep medication and I wish I still had the kind of peaceful calamity that happened after taking those meds, while I waited for sleep to take hold.

Does anyone else experience this (how do I word it--) strange 'lack of relaxation' after taking Xyrem? I'd love to hear any and all feedback people might have offer. Thanks so much =).
