Q: OK to start a new pack instead of taking inactive pills..?

instead of taking my inactive pills I want to just start a new pack. to avoid the bleeding. is that a bad idea?

Yep, perfectly fine.

However, you may spot. This is light bleeding that could happen instead of your period, even though you'll be on active pills. This spotting could last all month. If you skip again next month, you shouldn't spot. Most women spot the first time they try to skip.

Only other thing is you might want to call and let your dr know that you are going to do it. Most dr's don't mind and encourage women to!
