I am a new mother of a 3 month old baby girl. About a month and a half i started noticing she would do these twitching movements and shake. After a few time i took her into the er. We were admitted into the icu for 5 days.

They did an mri, blood work, ekg, a video 24 hour eeg....everything. They said her mri was perfect.....but they put her on phenobarbital.

She was fine for about 2 weeks. Then last friday she was doing them again, were her eyes would flutter and her head or body would shake. They last about 3 - 10 seconds.

The er dr. Said since has gained more weight since her fist dosage amount they upped her amount.

Now even with the upped amount, right before she is trying to go to sleep or after she has a full tummy she still does it every so often. We have an appointment with another neurologist this week.

But i am a nervous wreck.

Any help?!?!

I sm sorry to learn about your daughter's seizures. There is nothing worse than feeling so helpless. I feel your pain. My cousin is 7 days old having seizures in the hospital. He came home 2 days old was perfectly normal and healthy. On the 6th day having seizures. It usually happens after he eats and so doctors are now putting him on a liquid diet. They are still in the process of running tests. If the cause of your baby's seizures are discovered, could you please keep mr posted?

Thank you and bless your baby.
