I'm a 28 year old mother of two. Since the birth of my youngest (two and a half years ago) I have had a lot of pain using tampons. Sometimes they won't go in. I get them in so far, and it is like there is something in the way, and they just won't go in any farther. When it hits this "obstical" there is moderate pain, and i just have to leave it there, knowing that it should be up just a tiny bit more. Sometimes when the tampon is in there, (not quite high enough) I will get a dull throbing aching feeling, like tonnes of presure, and fullness. Comparable to the pressure that you would feel during childbirth, but not as intense. Also, it dosn't feel like a direct route from vagina opening to cervix. The Tampon wants to go down a winding road to get there. off to the right a bit, then further in, then to the left......strange that it cant just go "up"

After I had my first baby, i noticed some prolapse. She had been a very difficult delivery, with over two hours of pushing, and something gave. Now at times i do feel some tissure, and it is really difficult to have a bowel movement. The dr said it is not utering prolapse, but prolapes of the vaginal wall, and pelvic mussles. She also said that this is not tipically something you see in young women, but more mid life women.

My question is for anyone who has had this happen to their bodies, does the problems I'm having with tampons sound like something that might be caused by the prolapse? Is there anything short of surgery that will help this? I'm not sure if we are done having babies, so i don't want to take that step yet

If you have had a prolapse you might need a c-section anyway... I would ask the doc about it.

At the moment I am unsure to what is wrong, you should do some research on the computer, and visit your doctor again so you can figure out what's going on. Right now I would say you need to stop using tampons and stick to the pads if you haven't already. I hope this helps you! Smile

Sounds to me like you have a definite prolapse. Since there's pain, I would think it's your uterus that is prolapsed and you're pushing the tampon into your cervix. Do you experience this same pain during intercourse? Good luck to you.
