Could This Be Schizotypal? Posted: 04-06-04 05:51am
My friend and I recently took an online
personality test and his results came back
as highly schizotypal. I have been
concerned about him for about a month, as
he has become withdrawn from initmate
relationships. The confusing thing is
that he does not exhibit social anxiety
and is generally self-confident. His
patterns of thinking are, at least by
conventional standards, highly irregular,
and he is developing more symptoms of
depression. He claims that these
"spells" have come before, but he thinks
that this one may be worse. I feel that
this problem will continue if he doesn't
seek treatment. Where can he start? Is
studying the schizotypal personality a
place to do that, or do his symptoms point
elsewhere?

All we are going by ... Is your
perception ! And, since, you are not, god
or a legal judge or a doctor of
psychiatry, then ... We will have to take
everything you are saying, with a " grain
of salt " ! I meam, he may simply be a "
non - conformist " & you, on the
otherhand, a " controlling freak " ! We
simply, do not know ! If ... He is ...
On the other hand ... Seriously having
problems, we should try to get him some
help ! Look in the community ... Say
for instance ... Mhmr, as, that won 't
cost you any $ & they can refer you
to someone out there in the community
who is " free of
charge " ! Peace ! Laura
