D&C RARELY FAIL.

Medical abortion are more likely to fail.

D&C can fail because the abortion was done VERY early, say 4-5 weeks, and the doctor did not remove all of the pregnancy tissue.

He may have thought he removed everything, but he did not. Pregnancy that early is TOO tiny to see, so you go by volume of blood and materials removed.

SOMETIMES they remove the fetus, but they leave other tissue behind.

Twin Needs Uterus
Doesn't the twin need the obliterated amnio sac and the rest of the tissues and amniotic fluid that is in the womb? So if these are cleaned out, how can a fetus or a twin fetus still survive? Does the uterus build itself back up again when in the presence of life? I don't get it.

Not all twins share an amniotic sac, especially faternal twins. So, a twin CAN survive after the abortion of the other twin because it still has it's own fluid and placenta.
