so..
i live in a white part of town (believe me i am NOT racist) but we never see black people where i live. I'm at home alone, while my parents went shopping. So the doorbell rang, and i went to answer it. There was a black guy carrying a backpack and wearing a SL hat. He looked really really mad, so i just locked the door and ran upstairs. It scared me because i've never seen this person before. I called my dad and he called the police. Now they're trying to figure out what this guy is doing. I'm just freaked out!

yeah, the guy left
michael is helping his sister move
=(
i guess the sheriff is looking for him and the sheriff is in columbus (30min away) we have to call the sheriff because we live less than a mile out of the city limits and the newest police chief in Galena wont let the cops mess with calls out of city limits.

What ever the color, you shouldn't open the door for strangers. You are young and alone and that could be a dangerous postition. You never know who can be out there. I hate being alone in my house and Im 30. When my husband is not home, I freak out at any strange noise.

that was the most racist thing anyone has ever said on this site....what does a black guy at your door have to do with no black people living in your area? does that make him more dangerous than if it was a white guy? are u freakin serious? why did the whole balck issue evern have to come up? why couldnt you just say there was a guy at my door? how old are you?

I have to agree with Emma. Being a black man has nothing to do with it and neither does the lack of diversity in your area. You could have just said a strange man knocked on your door and we would have understood considering you are a young woman home alone at night.

as i said at the VERY BEGINNING of my post that i am NOT racist, i would have done the EXACT same thing if it were a white man that came to my door, or any other nationality........i was just pointing out that it was VERY strange for any one of color to be in my neighborhood or town for that matter..... i will change my post for anyone that i offended, because i did not mean to and....i'm gone!

i wont change my post because the edit button is gone..but i would if it were there...

I get scared when anyone knocks on my door. We live in apartments and we don't have a peep hole on our door. So i NEVER open the door. Imagine when people just walk into you apt to spray for bugs or to inspect something w/o you knowing. One time I was sleeping and it happened. Boy, was i scared! Race doesn't matter to me if he/she is black white, etc. All races live around here.

I didn't take it as a racist either. She was telling a story and mentioned the guy was black. Yes, she could have said a strange man was at her door, but what harm did she do really.
Zanny did you have a good time?

I didnt take it as racist... she even stated that in the first few lines... but I guess you can read into something the way you want to, huh? The fact that she was home alone, someone who looked pissed and she didnt know is a perfect justification not to answer the door... I know about 2 hours from where I live there are alot of home invasions going on...and this is how they start...someone at the door... the door gets answered...and bam the person forces themself in... (usually have more ppl hiding nearby as well)... I have answered the door and have had the person (not saying race cuz then I would be racist too....ha ha) and they wanted to know if I needed a service done..I said no and they walked off... I closed the door and I guess he didnt think I was watching but he tried my car doors to see if they were open and looked into the car..... well... about an hour later he was back..with some buddies... went to my car to scope it out with them....and I came out with a "friend" I asked what they wanted with my car and they ran... I think my "friend" scared them a lil

welll... i mean.. she pointed out his race because her area is predominantly white and was stating how unusual it was to see somebody NOT WHITE there.

I know that when i went to visit a friend of mine in Paramore, which is the part of own in Orlando that is predominantly black, people i swear to god looked at me like i was lost and like i had ulterior motives. I got glared at SO many times.

I dont think she was bieng racist.. i think it just reads like the reason she was scared was becuase he was black.. i dont think thats how she meant it. ^_^
